  • AWESOME job Duck! We started at the same time with our health revelation. When I visit in Aug I'm hitting you up so we can work out together. I'll be in town for 10 days and I don't plan to slack off my program. :o)
  • It definitely depends on the exercise. I did a duathlon and burned over 1,000 calories in 2 hours. Yesterday I did 60 min of spin and burned over 500 calories. I normally average between 400-500 calories doing spin. On days when I do spin, weights and sauna or work out twice a day burning 1,000 calories or more is a…
  • Myself and a few others started the 30 day squat challenge today along with the 5/100 Fitness Challenge by Gwen Ro. The fitness challenge consists of 5 exercises (jumping jacks, burpees, squats, pushups and situps and 4 weeks. The first week you do 20 of each exercise second week you do 40 of each exercise, 3rd week 60 of…
  • Veggie trays are always good. So are meat and cheese trays, fruit or veggies like celery and apples paired with peanut butter or soft cheese spread. Homemade kale chips are quick and easy to make and delicious. Hummus and ________ fill in the blank. Or you could look for healthy recipes for more in depth dishes.
  • My nutritionist made that exact same recipe a couple of weeks ago and I loved it! I plan to make it for my wife sometime this week as she loves kale.
  • Physical: I love my dimples and smile Non Physical: I love my wit and intellect Inner beauty or outer beauty they both work towards your appearance :o)
  • Every morning for me and sometimes I squeeze in an afternoon workout. I said I was going to start doing insanity in the evenings but I have to wait until my back is feeling better before I let insanity break it lol At any rate your workout should be done during a time when you can be consistent. I get up every morning at…
  • I sent you a freind request :o) I'm open to befriend all positive and serious minded people. Im in it to win it (or in this case lose it) lol SO LETS GET IT!!!
  • Well you did that!
  • Eat a handful of nuts (unsalted) or peanuts and or peanut butter is good and will boost your calories.
  • What type did you get? I just bought a Polar FT60. It should be able to do the same thing but it needs another attachment. Should arrive Thursday and I can play with it.
  • Thanks for the link it was really useful. I've dropped the FT4 and 7 off my list and I'm now just considering the FT40, 60 and 80 based on the information the link provided.
  • Thanks Majope! Good to know. I think I'm going to look into getting the Polar and see what happens.
  • I don't think it's about comfort at all (I'm not large breasted that's for sure) it's more of my sensitive skin. I was looking for something I didn't have to put on my chest area because I found that after my workouts recently I was getting a lot of chaffing on my chest area. I think it may be due to the cotton shirts and…
  • WOW! I just finished searching for 45 minutes online for the exact same thing and was getting ready to post in the forum to see what others were using. I would also prefer not to have to fiddle with a chest strap. I'm considering the touch sensor heart rate monitor as well as the arm sensor heart rate monitor and wanted to…
  • Awesome progress! Keep up the dedication!
  • Booo-YAH!!! For those in the state of Louisiana or Texas, what city are yall in or from?
  • Louisiana and Texas ha ha ha I was born in Da Boot (New Orleans, LA) and raised in the Count Down City (San Antonio, TX - 210 area code hence the count down city) :o)
  • Hi...I've been logging my food and activity for the last 3 weeks in my personal notebook but just started logging on MyFitnessPal (it was recommended by my dietician and exercise counselor). Took me a minute to get the hang of it all and build my food and exercise diary on here but I think I've got it now and I even…
  • Lady Raven, I posted earlier that you have to eat more of the right stuff. If you're eating a lot of sugars just to meet your calorie intake you won't see the results you seek. So again, its not necessarily eating more but eating more of the right stuff. Just because the scale isn't moving, doesn't mean that you're not…
  • Exactly. When you eat less your body starves and starts to store fat because it doesn't know when the next meal will come. Lots of times your body will burn muscle before fat when you're not eating the right calorie intake as well. When you eat more (and the key is not to just eat more but to eat more of the RIGHT stuff…
  • Depending on what your aim is (build muscle, tone or to lose weight) you should really be working out all your major muscle groups in one setting (chest, back, arms, legs) at least 3 times a week.
