  • Thanks! Glad I'm not the only one. I hope they put out an update to fix this bug soon. It's driving me crazy!
  • I'm going to request you. I think we have some things in common. 29, 5'2", I live in New York, and currently weigh 152 lbs. May 2014 I weighed 210 lbs and decided enough was enough. NO way I was entering my 30's like that. So first I started only eating when I was actually hungry; not because I was bored, wanted a snack…
  • You can do that with a flex? I did not know that. Thanks for the tip! I'm going to hunt around fitbit's website to see how to do it.
  • I haven't tried freekeh yet, but I did get a nice big bag of emmer farro. It's delicious in oatmeal! And I got some quinoa. I really like toasting it and then adding it to salad. I might try freekah next time I do a grain run at whole foods. I think it'll be good in salad too!

  • I finally trekked out to trader joes and whole foods and found what I was looking for, and more, at whole foods. They had hulled barley in bulk and they had whole oat groats in bulk too. I've been looking for that grain as well. I was really shocked that TJ didn't have that in bobs. Lucky vitamin looks like a great online…

  • Thank you Heidi. I guess I'll check out Trader Joe's. This is what I'm looking for (any brand): bobsredmill.com/whole-hull-less-barley.htmlhttp://

  • I read that article yesterday. It's something to do with the rice's chemical (?) reaction to being cooled right after it's cooked that zaps the calories in half. And it looks like it only works with whole grain takes-awhile-to-cook rice and not minute rice. I don't trust it either. Besides the fact that you're adding…
  • i started looking at mfp's food log on the website and i found the issue. for one of the foods i was logging using my iPhone app, the mfp website kept using the wrong unit of measurement. So when i logged 50g of red peppers on the app, the MFP website log was recording it as 50 whole red peppers. That's where my 1000+…

  • I get dinner from a Mexican place about once a week. My trick: order salad. If it's the kind of place that let's you build your own, get all the veggies you like, grilled chicken, black beans (they're better for you than pinto or refried), and as much salsa as they'll let you. Salsa will help flavor the salad so you won't…
  • I did 35 in 3. I think you could do 50 but it will take some drastic measures (they hit goals like this on biggest loser all the time so it can't be that completely unhealthy short-term). Try not only limiting your calories but making healthier choices as to what you eat: fruit, vegetables, chicken breast, lean beef, etc.…
  • The only time I do that is if I'm having a day when ice cream cannot be denied. Or if I go somewhere that I have little choice of what to eat. Generally, I like to see that net calorie number go down looooowww ⏬
  • I do the same thing: treadmill and fitbit. Loooove my new fitbit and it came in handy on vacation where I didn't have my beloved treadmill to tell me how many calories I burned from jogging. For me, I have to be TOTALLY distracted in order to spend any length of time on the treadmill, especially for jogging. Netflix and…
  • I found some fun zumba routines on youtube. A good channel to look up is the one by Lauren Fitz. She mixes some hip hop into zumba moves and it's very fun (just with less of a latin flare). She has a good selection of songs to pick from ("Timber" is a good one). If it's something you like, there are tons of free videos on…
  • that movie is so under-appreciated! i laughed so hard (and wanted to cry too b/c that seems to be our actual reality).
  • You can do it! I'm 5'2 and I started off at 210. I'm under 150 now. It's possible and SO rewarding. *Don't let occasional gains and plateaus get you down. It happens and you'll get past it! *Drink lots of water. Lots and lots and lots. It's good for weight loss and makes your skin look amazing! *Cook for yourself as much…
  • Good for you for getting back in the game!
  • I'm in the middle of a sleep study for insomnia, so I've been bombarded with a ton of information to look into. Exercise is just one of the topics. According to sleep medicine, the best time to exercise is at the start of your day. This is because working out increases your body temperature and it takes your body like 4-6…
  • i've eliminated all grains from my diet and it's helped me a lot. i am prone to migraines, and before i changed my diet, i was getting at least one migraine per week. i was averaging out about 6 per month and it was usually on weekends. now i get maybe one or 2 a month and i'm just a bit more sensitive to weather changes.…
  • Any action movie. Avengers is one of my favorites, and lately I've been on a Mission Impossible binge (even though I can't stand Tom Cruise). For me, as long as the people are moving around a lot on in the movie, I'm distracted enough to not totally hate working out. Action tv shows are good. During the week I've been…
