"It took more than a day to put it on, and it will take more than a day to take it off." Words to live by! Take it one small step at a time and set smaller goals. I started out with 110 lbs. to lose, and have lost 83 of that. If I can do it, anyone can!!

I have taken self defense classes and am always aware of my surroundings, think about what I would do if something happened, etc., but am considering also getting a stun gun for my runs now that it is getting darker out earlier.

I live here in Columbus where this woman was killed. I have been running on the trails at a local park after work. There are typically a lot of other walkers/runners on the trail, and I don't run if I don't see a lot of others on the trail. However, since it is getting darker earlier, I am going to have to alter my after…

What a great thing you are doing! I am an 8 year survivor if you would like to add my name to your list (Cheryl Saul). I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2005. I am going to join Team in Training through LLS and either run a half-marathon or do a tri in 2010 to celebrate 10 years of being cancer free. Best of luck to you and I…

When I calculated it, for a light activity level it gives me 2052 (-20% = 1641) and for moderate 2313 (-20% = 1850). So, assuming I did the calculations right (I did check twice), those are the amount of calories I should be eating every day. I did unlink my fitbit to MFP to clear up any confusion on my part so I don't…

I have horrible pain in both knees due to arthritis, but still insist on running. I started using KT tape when I run and have not had any knee pain while running since. There are youtube videos that show you how to apply it, or you could go to a professional that sells it that could show you how to put it on. I have lots…

Thank you so much for posting this today - you have no idea how great your timing was and how much I needed to read this today!!

I am about the same height and weight as you are, and did the C25K last year. I had problems with my breathing when I first started. However, I have run 2 5Ks in the last two months. I would suggest like the other posters to get fitted for a good pair of running shoes. Also, it sounds like you may have shin splints, and…

What an amazing and inspiring story! Keep up the good work! I am in a similar situation too - beat cancer in 2005 (Hodgkin's lymphoma), and then after that, just let myself go and ate whatever I wanted. I quickly found myself at my highest weight ever - 255.3!! I am now down 80.7 lbs. with around 30 lbs. still to go. Keep…

I have a fitbit ultra (upgraded recently from the one) and have it synced with my MFP. Every now and then, I get syncing problems, but it is always on fitbit's end and not MFP. Normally, I have had great results with the fitbit syncing and giving me extra calories for my exercise, but I've noticed in the last couple of…
