  • gluten is a 2-part protein found in wheat, barley, and rye. If you have Celiac's disease and you ingest gluten it triggers an autoimmune response to attack the microvilli of the small intestine. If you have non-celiac gluten sensitivity, it can cause many of the symptoms of Celiac's disease except there is no intestinal…
  • You can also toast and then grind into a flour and use in recipes instead of oat flour.
  • I'm 5'8" and I'm 22% body fat, 144.5 lbs. I would like to be 18% body fat.
  • I like to mix a low fat cottage cheese in a blender with a frozen banana and a scoop or 2 of protein powder of your choice. Tastes good and calories you can be happy with. The cottage cheese gives it a creamy consistency with just enough salt, not too much. Banana gives it a sweet flavor.

  • 1 g/lb body weight of protein 0.4 g/lb fat the rest is calculated backwards using your calorie goal for carbs.
  • Eat more food on your rest day. It seems that you are eating a low amount of calories to start with. When you exercise you are allowed to eat the calories you burn off but from the get go at your weight I would assume that to lose weight at a good pace you can eat more than 1270. If you try to change your calorie intake in…

  • You should eat more on training days. Period. Not necessarily all of your calories should be eaten that you have earned but some. How else is your body going to build that muscle mass or shred that fat without the energy provided by food? You need food for all body function - including shredding fat.

Low intensity steady state cardio is great at burning calories for fat loss as well but it takes longer - 40-60 minutes. I personally would…

  • If you truly are working out with heavy weights I would not drop your calories below 1500. What I would do instead is change your macros within that 1500. Try a 40/40/20 carb/protein/fat within that. I personally weight 144.5 lbs, am 5'8" and work out 6 days a week. I eat 1500-1800 calories depending on if it is a training…
  • Getting a workout partner would be great. As a woman I was also nervous about training with weights at first. Thankfully I had my brother in law help me get started. Now I am a strong female entering the weight room and I'm a regular. If I need a spotter I can usually detect a familiar gym rat to help me out. You could…
