  • That’s really hard. Can you offer to help meals? Then you can control what goes in. Or perhaps you can have some nights off with your partner so you don’t hang out with his family every day and then you can pick your own food. Can you request sauces be done separately so you only take a little bit? I think you’ll have to…
  • Thank you! I think I'll continue recording it as moderate, unless I somehow become a champion rower (unlikely).
  • I don't do these sorts of strength exercises at the gym (too embarassed, not sure where I should do them), so I do stretches and strength at home - I have a little routine - general stretches, 10 push ups, 20 crunches, 20 lunges, 10 squats, 10 sun salutations (not neccessarily in that order). The sun salutations include a…

  • I'd like to know th eanser to this too.
  • It's not a way I'd thought of celebrating.. ;)
  • Oh just seen your reply. I'm amazed that a yogurt bar or yogurt would fill anyoen up in the morning as I'm always starving first thing! Perhaps switch to cereal or porridge for breakfast? My porridge (28grams oats, 200 ml of semi skimmed goast milk, 28grams of raisin or apricots and a tablespoon of honey) give sme about…
  • Could you use low fat stuff in any of your meals? You could try using high fat stuff instead. Or have a chocolate bar or something. Or perhaps look at your nutritional intake and if you are low on certain vitamins etc eat something high in those vits. If you are really not hungry after eating 1000 cals I'd be more…
  • Haven't had a chance to reasd this allind etail but wanted to add my two penn'orth - I think people comment on women's weight because our bodies are seen as public property. By us merely going outside, being seen, we invite scrutiny. It's not fair. I know it's all tied in with society valuing thinness and hating fat, but…
  • Hello! i accepted it.
  • thank you!
  • Hi I'm a solitary pagan, mostly practising by celebrating the sabbats, appreciating the outside world and praying when I feel I need to or desire to. Just joined MFP last week as a work colleague recommended it - I am trying to find ways to maintain my weight under 10 stone by understanding the calorie.carb content of what…
  • I eat what I want on the sabbats. I see them as a time for celebrating life (and death when appropriate!) and enjoying myself. I am using Lent this year to give up biscuits and cake, and so test whether I am happy to stop eating these things between each sabbat. If it turns out that I am baking of biscuits and cake will…

  • Thanks again guys. I try to only eat fresh veg that's in season which means that for about half of the year it's difficult to get green leafy veg. I have no problem trying iron supplements so i'll be buying some later this week.
  • Thanks both. I was under the impression quorn had iron in it but apparently not. Having just started the food diary thing on here, I think that even if I ate green leafy veg, kidney beans, brown rice, apricots and chili every day I still wouldn't have enough iron. Dammit!
  • OK, so I worked out how ti view the iron information. Turns out I'm seriously lacking, probably because I'm vegetarian. Am now chowing down on some pumpkin seeds. Any ideas on how to get iron into a vegetarian diet would be gratefully received. Otherwise I'm just going to start taking iron tablets.
