  • Hello everyone! Can you add me too please: TheVR
  • I love meat...so if you don't mind a meatatarian on your friends list then feel free to add me. I could use some additional motivation. At my heaviest I was about 260 lbs but I'm currently at 223 and have been here for a while after falling off the bandwagon. I want to get to 196 lbs first and see how I look and feel. If…
  • Feel free to add me as well! I've only just restarted after a break so could also use some encouragement/butt-kicking.
  • You can buy the low calorie bread at most supermarkets and the cals are usually under 50. Personally, I find the texture of some of them a bit dry and cardboard like. For a tastier alternative try Warburtons Milk Roll (47 per slice) or Kingsmill White Crusts Away (50 per slice).
  • That's pretty much spot on. You need to build on the endurance first, and since the half marathon isn't until next April you've got lots of time to do that. I would start working on how long you can run now and then about 18 weeks before the half marathon you start a training programme that builds in the speedwork…
  • I use RunKeeper all the time and it's great. Many thanks for the welcome!
  • That's just over 11 mins per mile so that's not bad. You have to get the whole 'slow/fast' thing out of your head with running. It's not important. You just go at a speed that you're comfortable with and you work on it. That's why running is great because it's a selfish sport. I'd work on endurance first and then worry…
  • I already run but I think this is a fantastic idea and I wish you all the best. I used to weigh about 18 1/2 stone when I first started running and got down to 16 just through running alone (no real change in diet). I'm now just over 16 stone and running for an hour burns about 1000 calories!
  • If you're using a device with a foot pod it's not going to be that accurate anyway. Some of them allow you to calibrate them to your gait but they're still just for general distance. The time/clock on any device though is just a clock, it's not wrong. I have a GPS watch (garmin forerunner 405) and I used it for a half…
  • How could it ever be a bad/negative thing to be taking such positive steps in life. It's not obsession, it's just a great way to live.
  • Everyone is different. I get up at 5:20am every day and I go to the gym for when it opens at 6am. I've done it so long now that I wake up before my alarm clock most of the time. I like exercising in the morning because it makes me feel great during the day. I don't like exercising in the evening because then I just want to…
