I am not in a chair but I am disabled from Polio as a child. I am on maintanance as well and am able to maintain by logging my food. Yes, the thoughts of regaining the weight is scary, but believe me you can maintain and eat all the nutrient dense foods you can hold. Even at my age (62) with a very slow metabolism it can…

I took Alli which is about half the potency of orlistat. I did lose with it (gained most of it back) but I also have had a problem with constipation since that time. I has been about 5 years since I took it and I still have problems. I really would not advise taking it because of that. Hope this helps.

Hello, I live in Gaston County, NC. Just west of Charlotte. Any 60 somethings nearby? Nancy

Thanks for your replies. I'm still thinking of getting one, just need to figure out where to put it. When I do I'll probably get the Weider gym because it's cheaper. Nancy

I was wondering the same thing. I am 61 and have about 10 lbs more to lose and would love to see if I can tone my arms. I am doing some light weights but am looking to do more. Nancy

I'm enjoying reading your comments about The Thin Commandments and think I will pick up a copy this weekend. Is this where you discuss it? For today I will plan my snacks better. Marie, I wish I would forget to eat. Food is always on my mind. Nancy

Hi everyone, I am a 61 yr old grandmother of two boys and am disabled from Polio. I would love to have more friends for support that I would be happy to support as well. Nancy

Jeannie, I did the same thing. To kick start my good eating habits I got off just those foods that were giving me acid reflux. Fried foods was one of them. Eventually everything else followed. I wish you much success. Nancy

Yes, I would love to be more active in this group. I sometimes can't respond because I don't always have my computer with me at my moms but I can read the post and catch up later. So let's all chime in when we can. adbohis, it doesn't matter what your issues are, pain is pain and we all understand that here. I have…

I do both. Started WW online but may not keep it up. I have the app and can log my points so I will continue with that. At the same time I use MFP to keep track of calories and sodium. It works for me.

Call your drs. office and tell them you want a referel to a specialist. If they won't do it see if anyone will see you without it. It may be that you need to change GP's. Good Luck, Nancy

Resty, sorry there is someone whose remarks hurt you. Hopefully they are not meaning to be hurtful. Just turn it around and kill them with kindness. That's what I did when I had a lady at church to hurt me. I have never figured out what I did to make here dislike me so much but I decided to be as kind to her as possible…

Marie, we are getting a Cheddars here. What all do serve? I thought that it would be another place I would have to get a salad. Resty, hope you rested well last and feel more refreshed. Have a wonderful day ladies. Nancy

Resty..........Hope you are feeling better. As I posted earlier I will be praying for you. I hope you don't mind. Are you able to share your first name? It just makes things more personal I think. If not, that's ok. Marie...........Glad being gluten free helps your BM. I tried it but it did not help me for that. I took…

Resty........ so sorry for what you went through but I admire how you have moved on. My oldest daughter was not physically abused but she was sexually abused. She has had a hard time all of her life trying to get past it. But she pushes on as you do and tries to stay busy. I love all your post about your pets and figuring…

Good Morning, I am doing good so far with my diet. My stomach is shrinking and I can't eat as much as I use to at one time so that helps. I haven't been logging my exercise because I don't want it to give me an excuse to eat more. Day before yesterday I walked for 20 min. using my cane. The road had a slight incline which…

Hello everyone. I'm so happy to have found this thread. I am 61 and had Polio when I was almost 3 yrs. I have been diagnosed with Post Polio Syndrome. That's basically your already weakened muscles getting weaker with more pain as you age. Weight loss has always been difficult for me because of limited mobility (leg…
