I am right there with you. My goal is 160 and I currently weigh 236. I lost over 60 pounds on MFP once before bit gained it back, plus some, after having a stroke. I have to take charge of my weight again. Anybody here please feel free to add me. I will send you a request.

1200 calories is the lowest you should ever go. If you exercise you need to eat back those calories burned... so more than 1200 on days you exercise. I log everything. The main reason is because later in down the road if I am super stuck, I can go back and see what I ate. Secondly, things you think don't have calories actually do.
