oh Debbie - I wish I could give you a great big hug. Please be kind to your self. there have been so many great suggestions and when the time is right you will proceed. That being said, choosing one thing to focus on ie tracking you intake (or what ever you choose) can provide some structure/stability, regardless of what…

as probably already mentioned - moderation and please enjoy what you do eat with out remorse!

if they really are your friends and you want to maintain a relationship - you need to share with them (individually?) how their comments made you feel. If that situation were reversed, I know that you would not want to offend anyone, and wouldn't you want to know so you could know how to be a supportive uplifting friend???…

I am so sorry. I have experienced a miscarriage as well and can somewhat empathize with you though we all have our own individual experiences. Please be kind to your self. As you mentioned tracking is a great way to stay focused and realize your total intake. Take care and stay healthy.

another pear checking in..................... we have to remember that pathophysiologically we are much better off than apples - whom have a much higher cardiac risk profile! I know, I know, I do enjoy eating pears, but have always struggled with my shape. we must try to focus on the positive!!!

Welcome and isn't a smile a wonderful thing?  I plan to track food eaten/portions, calories and fat and investigate some exercises for the big bouncy ball that was given to me. If anyone has any sites for incorporating these types of balls, I would really appreciate the info!

super - that reminded me that at my dr visit today, BP was in a lovely range, where last time it was "borderline" HBP. Hurray for us!

try to focus on your new life journey - health, and the rest will come. my "dun lop" is diminishing. Actually it is the blob that hangs out under my belly button. Isn't it bizarre that at times we focus on the negative - we really need to focus on the positive. It is hard looking in the mirror at times, though the weight…

for my first 10 lost, I treated my self to a beautiful serving piece - tong style - ok, may sound kind of dorky, but I have really been wanting some serving "tongs" and found some recently at the opening of a new store in the area - matches some of my dishes - port marion. for the next 10 (7 more to go) I am planning on…

help is out there! If you have insurance, call the customer service # on your card and ask for a case manager to work with re your needs. also, your insurance company might also have a mental/behavioral health department and often someone is availabe to speak with 24/7 for crisis situations and there is the possibility of…

love to read about all of the activities! Need the motivation this week to search for exercises for the big bouncy balls, and need to check out yoga and pilates as today I was told that hip pain is arthritis and at some point in life I will need a hip replacement. that made me feel sick to my stomach. I know that my…

Victoza is a medicine category GLP-1 agonist. This is a wonderful class of medications! This class of meds works in a variety of ways: *helps restore first phase insulin production (this is the insulin that is secreted right after eating) *helps suppress glucagon production (glucagon is a hormone that signals the liver to…

it is Saturday and snowy in Michigan. We just have to laugh and always have the comment available to explain any weather at any time - "remember we do live in michigan". wouldn't trade the 4 seasons! I recently heard about a recipe for a dip but have not yet tried greek yogurt - plain your favorite seasoning hot sauce - a…

everyday is like "the first day" of our life long journey to our very best health! In the past one of my main motivators was to lose weight for some type of event, with of course the idea of striving for health. This is the first time in my journey that my main goal is for optimal health/nutrition and along with that will…

surround yourself with good people and you will do well as in all aspects in life. Who has time for those whom chose to belittle others and have no compassion or patience for the newbies. Take the good and leave the rest. Best health to you!

Me Too!!! I just started week #4 and plan to lose 50 also, perhaps even 60, but that 3 scares me even though @ 5'3" 140 is really the upper limit of where I need to be. the pounds are leaving me and daily logs of calories and fat intake are keeping me on track and are quite revealing!!!!!! Best to you.

amazing! Can you please share how you have been successful? thanks
