I wish I had asked this question when I first started and gotten this answer - YES! Maybe not important, but worthwhile, motivating, etc. I didn't measure until I was almost 2 months in. When i finally did measure, I know I've lost some inches, but I have no idea how many. It is a really good motivator when you aren't…

Way to go Lurayne!! That is awesome!

I was gonna wait and do this later today, but I'm so excited I can't. I lost 1.6 lbs this week (a little less than the 2 per week I need to make my goals, but its still AWESOME!) Anyway, I'm so excited because that loss takes me out the "Obese" BMI category and I'm now only "Overweight". YAY!!!! Challenges: I did my…

Hey Ladies...I hope everyone's week is going well. I'm struggling with the water this week...I started taking some new vitamins from GNC called "Be Hot". They are a combination of a muscle definition, metabolism booster, and something else. Anyway, they are making me not feel like drinking water - I'm having to force…

I'll go first today because I am SUPER excited! I weighed in this morning at 170 - down from last week's 171.8! This is my first goal weight (20 lbs lost!) and I had set it for March 31, so 13 days ahead of schedule too! Anyway, I get my first reward tomorrow - a trip to the salon to get my hair colored and cut - can't…

HI ladies...I'm still here...just really busy! I'm a CPA and it's tax season so for the next 4 weeks, I may not be on a ton. I will still check in on Fridays and log everything, but may not have a ton of time to chat. Glad you are feeling better BFab...I was sick a few weeks ago and it was miserable! And congrats Rebecca!…

Over 5 lbs...way to go Chelsea!!! That's amazing!

Good Morning ladies....yay..first weigh in. As of this morning I was 171.6 - down 2.2 lbs from last week. I'm super excited, as my first mini-goal is 170, at which time I get to go get this ridiculously long hair colored & cut! HOpefully I will be scheduling that appointment next week. I also kept with my water 8 out of 10…

BFab...hopefully the scale will give you a pleasant surprise tomorrow. All that moving had to count for something, right?? I agree on the water remaining a goal - it's a good one. I think we should make a goal (doesn't have to be this week but sometime) to do 2 days of some sort of strength training. It's a really good…

I just think people should listen to their own bodies. I get concerned when I see people generalize because a lot of people on here don't really know what they are doing. And people post on here like they are experts (for instance, I just read another post on this subject that was title "Read this if you're new") and it…

Funny...but since she's been to medical school and you haven't...I think I'm going to go with her recommendations over what a website says. And I'm not burning 1200 calories a day. I tend to average between 300 and 600. I was just posting what I had been told and what I think. You can't generalize on something like a…

I think its dangerous to post something like this that generalizes everyone. I know that for me, I don't need to eat back my exercise calories. I still have energy, still losing weight, and am definitely not in starvation mode. I checked with my Dr about 2 weeks ago because I was worried after reading all of the posts and…

I use Nature's Own Light Honey Wheat - 35 cals per slice and very tasty!

Chelsea...I'm feeling the same way. I was all about it for the first 2 months, now I find myself dreading my trip to the elliptical. I'm going to try to switch it up a little. I found a Zumba class locally and I'm going to try it out tomorrow night. I'm also looking forward to warmer weather when I can get outside and…

So excited to hear that the move went well Britnee! I remember when I moved in with my now husband...it was a stressful and happy time. But its a big and important step. And Lurayne...I know how you feel. If I don't see results as fast asI want to then I tend to give up and that's how I got here. Good for you getting up…

Hey ladies....I hope everyone is having a great Sunday! I did not get my water or my exercise yesterday, but I'm working on it today. I will definitely get the exercise and I'm trying to get the water. Good news that I was down 2 more lbs on Friday morning though! Only 34 lbs to my ultimate goal. Oh...and...my Mom…

Tomorrow morning is my official weigh in too. I'm feeling pretty good, but I, like you, jump on the scale EVERY morning. I was up a little this morning from yesterday, but I had chik fil a for dinner last night - mmm...salty waffle fries. So I've been good today and I'm hoping to be down another 2 lbs tomorrow. If I can do…

Stay strong. Changes are hard but are often for the best. When she gets home you can show off your new body and new place. We're all here if you need someone to talk to. :)

Morning Ladies! I got my 30 minutes and water yesterday. I still feel like yesterday was a bad day for some reason. Probably the chik-fil-a I had for dinner. Oh well....today's a new day! I'm thinking of buying either Dance Central or Zumba for my XBox Kinect today...anybody had any experience with either? I want to mix up…

I weight myself every morning....right before I hop in the shower. I know you're not supposed to do it everyday...and I only record my Friday morning weigh in. But I like to see the effects that the previous day had on my weightloss. I have to remind myself that if I'm up a little one morning it probably is just water…

Good Morning ladies! Feeling even better this morning...thank God for antibiotics and cold medicine. Maybe I'll finally get rid of this nasty sinus infection and be able to breathe. Skipped the DP again this morning...went straight for water (after coffee of course). @BFab24 - I don't think my body would allow me to work…

Hit my water goal today! It's only 7 here so I haven't gotten my workout in yet, but I plan to once I put my 2 year old to bed. Hope everyone else had a good first day!
-
I'm getting an early start on the water this morning...had my regular coffe drink with breakfast, skipped the convenience store for my diet dr. pepper...and got a cup of water as soon as I got to work. I hope you ladies' days are starting off right! Oh...and I exercised last night for 30 mins. Big thing for me since I have…

Welcome! And a suggestion on your coffee drinks. If you make them yourself they have much fewer calories. I can make a white chocolate mocha at home for about 150 calories, where at Starbucks it is around 500. Its all in the ingredients. And at home it only costs around $1 to make, where it's $5 to buy. Good luck!

Hi Everyone..I'm Stephanie. My starting weight was 190 and I'm currently at 174 (as of this morning at the Dr.). My goal weight by June 1 is 150. I'm in on the drinking 64 oz of water. I was doing really good for a while then I got sick and I'm struggling to get back on the water wagon. I'm a CPA and a mom...I think of…

I'm in...if you still have room. I've been looking for a small group like this. :)

I use a heart rate monitor as well. I was relying on the counter on my elliptical, then I tried to the EA ACtive on the XBox and it kicked my butt but only burned 200 calories in 30 minutes. So I began to question how the elliptical could burn 500 in 30 mins. I bought my HRM and found out I had been logging more than twice…

@Shamrock40 - I hadn't thought about a bike. I might look into the used stores like you suggested and see if I can find one. I just need something to break up the monotony (spelling??) so that I don't give up like I have in the past. Right now I'm seeing results so I keep going, but I'm afraid that if I plateau I will get…

@tmcowan - yes, I visited a local running shop where they analyzed my gait and fitted me properly for running shoes. They help with the elliptical, but not the other exercise. I was an athelete in high school (11 years ago - gasp!) and was fine then. But I haven't worked out in years and started this journey at 190 lbs on…

Are you netting 1200 calories or are you only eating 1200 calories and then working out on top of it?
