Thanks I will use what mfp says. I have a HRM but I have a feeling it will completely over estimate calories burned if I use it for weight training.

I made sure that my route include some steep inclines so it wasn't all straight or downhill. The app that I am using uses gps to track my speed and distance ( mapmyrun is what its called if anyone else has used it) today was the first time I used it so I don't know how accurate that will be. I'll see what happend tomorrow.

Yeah I did think it looked a bit high, I was expecting something between 600-800 maybe. I have Domyos hrm with chest strap and it is coded so it shouldn't interfere with anything. I'll be doing 4 miles tomorrow so I will check again. I will also double check the settings again. Would it be wise to knock of a few 100…

Thanks :) I guess I will see what difference the hrm makes in the coming weeks.

I got it for £30, and it does have a chest strap. It is coded as well so it shouldn't interfere with other machines and devices. I am pretty sure I set my stats properly but I'll double check that. I was constantly checking the bpm and there was continuous input, so it looked to be working fine. My concern is for the last…

Ah yes it did :) I'm happy to go with the HRM but before I was loggin my calories based on what the machine told me. That surely must have affected my net calories. I've obviously not been eating all my calories if there is a big difference like that.

Thanks for the advice.
