Buy your niece a puppy. That'll teach her.

You spit in public. You joyfully celebrate a new personal record while gagging.

I have a really nice single stroller and one 24 lb. baby to push around. Why do I want to throw up after running this way?! Am I that much of a wuss?

I think it's worth it. You have to live your life. That is what makes this doable long term. Go easy on it and estimate as best as you can. You don't want to sadly nibble on a lettuce leaf while your family celebrates. Not practical. Oh yeah....and cabbage is practically free. So eat LOTS. :)

I am nursing a 16 month old who drinks about 15 oz of cow's milk a day (along with water and juice), knows the art of dipping his carrots into ketchup, and watches me with glee in his eye as he slowly tries to bite off my tire-rubber nipple. I thought reducing my calories may make him stop. Nope---still loves his teddy…

Yeah, it looks like you may be eating below your BMR......starvation slow down!

Ice helps me. My right cankle (what else would I call it) hurts every time I increase. I just ice it and then rest it for a couple of days.

Fantastic, vee! I'm 36 and my time was 36:40.....so you kicked my butt! :-)

Please do. I'm excited for you. Have fun and try not to be nervous.

For me, it was harder than I thought it would be, but it was great anyway. Dress as though you would normally feel comfortable in 55-60 degree weather,…

I'm a noob but I've read a few articles that concur that running slower for longer will up your speed naturally. It seems to be working for me a little at a time.

The opinion of someone who has never run that far at once: Rest. (Just in case no one else posts. Of course lunchtime is over, so hopefully you made it if you decided to go for it.) It is ok to rest. I find that I do better after a day or two of rest if I've overdone it a little. Also, someone taught me about the power of…

Hi! I too am a 2013 newbie. My goal was to run a 5k by the end of the year, but I was a lot better at it than I thought I would be and so I already did one on 2/2. I finished at 36:40. It was really hard though...harder than I thought it would be. (Sensing a pattern here.) Anyway, I'm just working on being able to go…
