I'm set to lose 0.5 lbs a week and am averaging that. Some weeks are better than others but I'm trying to make a change for life so I'm not doing anything drastic
-
I hadn't realised until this post, but I have been more confident and I've only lost about 8lbs so far. But the added confidence has made me feel a lot more relaxed talking to people. I am now making friends with people in my gym classes, whereas before I wouldn't really talk to anyone before.

I find it a lot easier to run outside. Even stopping at lights and road crossings, I always do a quicker time outside then on the treadmill! Go out, give it a go, you might find it difficult at first but you need to work out what works for you. Good luck!

Make sure your getting enough calcium- that was my problem!

WTG! Keep up the good work! Progress pics are great motivation

I stopped my sister when she was about to go on a run in converse and jeans and lent her some trackies and trainers. We were visiting my dad, so it may have been she just didn't have the proper workout stuff, but she's also very poor and so probs can't afford them. But at least she was getting out to do the exercise and…

I've also found it to be great. You just have to stick with it, don't start too fast or you won't be able to keep going in the later weeks and redo any weeks you find a real struggle. Good luck!

That's quite a big change in quite a short time, I think people just need to get used to the new you (you look awesome BTW!)

Not a lot when it comes to food, he mutters and tuts when I'm entering my calories and if I mention calorie counting, he says it's a pointless thing to do and the only way to loose weight is to exercise more. With the gym, it's almost the complete opposite and not necessarily in a good way, he will tell me to go and make…

I tired them, the smell wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting but I couldn't handle the texture. Like chewing rubber, even with herbs and spices to make them taste nice I just couldn't stand them.

I once read from someone, somewhere on here that they weighed themselves each day of the week and took the lowest reading as their actual weight. They justified it by saying water retention or diet or so many other factors can influence the higher reading, but you can't fake the lower one. That is your truest weight. I…

Good for you for not giving up! Sounds like a really tough set back but you can break through it and get back on track. Get on the scale, mark this as the point your turning around from and work hard and you will achieve your goal!

I assumed the saturated fat was included under fat

Given that: Carbohydrates: 1 gram = 4 calories Fat: 1 gram = 9 calories Protein: 1 gram = 4 calories Carbs= 4cal Fat= 7x9 = 63cal Protein= 10x4 = 40cal That adds up to 107cal so the calorie count is accurate for the nutritional information given. My guess is the rest is fibre.

I've done the Race for Life for the past 6 years. So far just 5k, this year the 10k! The race for life is a great starter race as there is no pressure to go too fast. Some people walk and take their time doing it, but if you're going to run you can easily go at your own pace and feel great when you complete it! The couch…

Congratulations, that's an amazing achievement! :flowerforyou:

Yes, Tuesdays an d Thursdays are my rest days (If I drive to work I don't walk at all but the most I do on these days is walk 2 miles to the bus stop)
-
I shall up my strength training. Thanks, To be clear, I run on the treadmill, not walk so I am doing some running. I also try and fit in 10-20mins before my morning classes if there's time to try and up my speed.

Could you open your diary? There not much info to go on atm

I'm treating myself to a bit of a spree at the sports shop at the weekend- now I feel comfortable with my exercise routine I want to get some new workout clothes and some equipment for home :-)
-
During the week, I tend to workout in the mornings before work, the classes are quieter and at the end of the day I can go home and relax, and not feel guilty if I don't want to go to the gym. Wednesdays I go AM and PM, but this gets quite hectic! Weekends I go mid morning, after breakfast but before lunch and I find I do…

I think it's usually up to the guy- but the partner should offer (and be actually prepared) to pay.

That seems a long time to me. My gym has a daily circuit on the white board, and the rest breaks are always 20-30s. My plan, set out by one of the PTs gives me 30s on the rowers and 15-30s on the weights. I'd be interested to know of the reasoning behind such a long rest break

Hey, feel free to add me! I log on almost everyday

Lactose because I'm intolerant. But generally I restrict things that normally I would eat without much though, but would now push me over my calorie count... sweets in particular

I'm thinking about getting my first tattoo, it's being designed but it's a very slow process atm! Feel free to add me

I also try to take the stairs when I can. If I go to London I try to take the stairs up from the underground- that a workout in itself, especially when I pick a random stranger to race against! Occasionally I'll have a little spurt of energy and just dance randomly (dancing in the loosest sense of the word) I also try to…

Dancing (although when I'm alone and there's no mirror, I rock!) Coordination (my gym classes are a real challenge) Confidence

Me too. I would love for my arms to look like that!

Bump. A really good post especially for anyone starting out of loosing their way
