I recommend taking a couple Colace (the cheap Walmart version is just as good) daily for general, um, maintenance. In an emergency (maybe once every other month), I would think that a laxative would be fine. Also, drinking coffee daily sometimes helps regularity. No expert, just some advice.

I have found that the only time I go over on my sodium is when I eat out or eat a lot of soup (not made from scratch). Try cutting down on eating out and that should help your sodium.

Buying a balance ball & medicine ball. When did I think I was going to have time to use these things? I workout at a gym 6 days a week, and if I work out in the evening I do a workout dvd like 30 Day Shred or Tae Bo. Absolutely do NOT regret buying hand weights, TWO yoga mats (one for a friend to tag along without having…

Chocolate cake with yellow frosting! There was a time when I ate a piece for my dinner several nights a week when I worked at a grocery store. I was craving it & had a piece last night & it made me feel AWFUL. Didn't taste that good either.

I think it is a good motivator. It helped me get started changing my diet & helped me to get in the habit of having SOME kind breakfast. I personally LOVE chocolate royale slimfast. But then I decided to cut dairy out of my diet (still working on it) and the slimfast had to go.

Brown rice, dry beans, oatmeal, frozen chicken breasts, sweet potatoes, eggs, canned tuna (buy on sale), and only buy produce on sale. I think eating healthy is pretty inexpensive most of the time. It's the all crap you DON'T need that expensive! The only things I spend too much money on are energy/snack/protein bars.…

Oh no! :( I'm so sorry. Looking in your food diary, you've got to make some more changes! You're around the right calorie levels, but candy, chips, cheese, and cake aren't the right way to get there! I'm also super addicted to candy. I almost have to have candy every day and that's something that I'm working on. I do try…

Good job! I copy & pasted the addresses to see the pics but someone will be able to tell you how to fix it. But again, GREAT JOB!

Trying entering dancing into the exercise diary and see if it's comparable. That sounds about right though.

Right, you are trying to get close to 0. In the "Remaining" row, the green numbers are what you have left for the day. Red with a negative sign means you went over. So if it says -120 for calories remaining, that means you ate 120 more calories than your goal. If it says 120, it means you still have 120 remaining for the…

Exactly! Good advice.

I have the same problem! I'm following the tips I've read. Eating filling foods - oatmeal, sweet potato, trying to fill up on veggies. But I'm hungry all the time! I allow myself to go a little over so I don't go to bed hungry, to avoid gorging, but I'm still working on getting it worked down to under my goal. Let's keep…

Yep, I get that sometimes. Even when I was wearing size 10 jeans. For me (personally), that is not TOO thin. I think people just say that because they aren't sure what else to say & maybe they think it's complimentary?

Wow, what a great blog. I also read the 3 posts linked at the bottom of that one.

Great question! Curious to see what others say. I gave up on finding a good cereal & I'm trying to switch to oatmeal. I'm also looking for a good recipe for low-sugar granola.

Thanks! Will be trying this in the future.

Yep, it's very easy to pig out on foods that are healthy. Using the food diary on mfp helps me a lot. I KNOW if I eat more than one serving of nuts, my fat for the day is going to be in the red. I LOVE me a BIG, huge bowl of cereal - mmm! But since the beginning of my change, I actually get out a measuring cup and measure…

I'm really glad you said this actually. This was an a-ha moment for me. Thank you!

Just gotta say the hyperbole & a half reference made my day! :D

Haha you know people are going to have to read a post titled "nipples"!

I'm a huge Ezekiel bread fan! Try their tortillas too! Also in the freezer section.

Looks awesome! Love the pink highlights... Now I'm tempted... :)
-
Cool! I'll have to try a couple of those.

Bah, wish I read all of this 5 minutes ago when I was tempted by an ice cream sandwich. The ice cream sandwich won. :( At least it was a skinny cow one.

Awesome Heather!! I see you're from Raleigh - I'm from Greensboro myself. Recording everything that you're eating will be so helpful for you! Keep it up! I've been doing it for over a month now & it's inspired me to make lots of changes and is constantly educating me. Good luck on your journey!

I've had absolutely no coffee or espresso for 7 or 8 weeks now. This is a huge personal decision for me. I've cut out bread with wheat, cheese (with a couple of exceptions in the last month or two), and most dairy. I'd love to cut out red meat & it's a goal for me, but I love it and it's very easy to give in to having a…

Yeah type in the exact bread you use, the exact jam/jelly used, exact pb used. For example: 2 pieces Ezekiel Bread 7 Grain 2 tsp Smuckers Raspberry Preseves 2 tbs Jiff Peanut Butter

I'm also an elliptical hater!! Everyone seems to think it's easier than other cardio machines - not at all! Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but that thing is impossible. Put me on a treadmill and I can run & run, put me on a stationary bike and I can pedal away. I don't get the elliptical.

Interesting, thanks for sharing! Just like anything, don't be crazy & burn out on exercise and your diet. Balance diet & exercise in your life.

Ooo yeah, ditto to this
