  • Classy and sophisticated. Inspiring!
  • Okay, I'm in. My girlfriend and I did 60 days last spring, but got sidetracked. We started again tonight, working out with my brother who has completed it twice. I completed it once, did 60 days twice more. This time, it's "the full 90." We'll be a week ahead, but its a lot more fun with a group! :-)
  • I did it last year with my 15 year old son (and a bunch of people from work). It was a decent run, with some fun obstacles throughout. I wrote up a blog post and did a shakey-cam video. It was FUN! Don't be too freaked out--there were lots of people walking the second half... YouTube video:…
  • Did both. I like P90X waaaay more. P90X: Tony Horton is more entertaining than Sean T Workouts are more sustainable, and easier to modify if needed More variety Better muscle definition Requires had weights or bands and pullup bar INSANITY Better cardio burn No equipment needed Not as good muscle definition For me…
  • I used to blog Buseyisms, http://www.johnporcaro.com/2003/09/buseyisms_revis.html. I think I need to re-visit the topic, now that there's someone that makes Gary Busey look sane... :-)
  • some info on nutrition plan for p90x here: http://www.ehow.com/way_5333833_nutrition-guide-px-workout-system.html. You're going to need some kind of protein shake, it's the only way to get close to the amount of protein you'll need to hit 50% of your calories from protein during the first month. Lots of cottage cheese,…
  • In the unforgettable words of the guy whose name I forgot from "The Water Boy," Yoooo can doooo it!
  • Howdy, y'all. I'm going to jump into this discussion. Just finished up my second week of P90X. I completed the program last Jan-Mar, and have tried a couple of times to get back into the swing of things since then. I do a lot better when I have a group struggling through the same things, and you all seem supportive and…
  • Saw your "Warrior Dash" goal in your sig. I signed up for the Seattle Warrior Dash, mid-July. Oughtta be fun!
  • There are a few guys here. I get "chatty" about once a month, and the rest of the time, use the site as a "tool" to keep track of my workouts--log in, post, log out. Some guys are just that way. :-)
  • I found a similar pattern when I did my first round of P90X. No weight loss, or at least minimal, during the "regular" 30 days. Then I'd all of the sudden lose 4 or 5 pounds during recovery week. I think a lot of it is that you're building up muscle while you lose fat, and if you're keeping up with your protein goals (50%…
  • I got a Bowflex Precision XT at Big 5 for about $40. At a minimum, look for one that has a chest strap, and tracks calories. It's really all you'll need to get started. I picked up one that you put your fingers on to take your heart rate, but it didn't track calories and really disrupted the flow of P90X, I'd stay away for…
  • Wow, you look amazing! NICE WORK! You're at a place many wish they could get!
  • I'm also a big fan of Goodwill (though even they can be expensive). Lately, I've been wearing my teenage boys' clothes. I went from XLs to Mediums, and they went from kids sizes to small to Medium. My teenage boy actually weighs just 20 lbs. less than I do (he's at my ideal weight, though he's probably 15-20 lbs. over his…
  • Oh, ya, eggs. Right.
  • double up on the protein shakes. it's the only way to get to the 50% protein mark (the plan I'm currently on, the first 30 days of P90X. Other than that, meat, cottage cheese and lots of it, string cheese, edemame, greek yogurt, protein bars (love the P90X protein bar, 20g and tastes like candy!). I am SOOO sick of…
  • Remember the way MFP works is that when you enter the amount you're working out in the week, it calculates the calories you'll burn, and removes them from your daily goal. You'll still make the weekly goal (i.e., lose 1 lb. a week) if you don't work out at all. You get your exercise calories back when you work out. So if…
  • Yep. Heart Rate Monitor with your weight and age inputted. Depends on your intensity. That workout would get me close to the 1000 calorie range in an hour--yikes.
  • Gotta try that with my kids! Sounds fun!
  • In the infamous words of The Waterboy: "You Can Do It!" :)
  • That's so awesome, Tiff. Just be careful that he's not flirting with you, in a roundabout (and possibly insincere) way. Take it as the acknowledgement that it is, that he was a jerk, that you're worthy of being treated with respect (now, and then), and that he is sorry. And if it had anything to do with the fact that…
  • Right On! Bring It! BTW, the first two workouts are kind of the hardest, so do your best (and forget the rest!). :)
  • EAT THEM! They're subtracted from your weekly total if you entered them into your goals (x workouts/week, x minutes/day). Don't starve yourself!
  • OMG, Tiff. WOW! My BF is at 22%. And my weight is hovering around 205-207, has been for three weeks now...
  • lately i've been doing a lot of guesstimating, I'd look up "pizza," and scroll through to see if there's something that *sounds* about right. Maybe Lean Cuisine four cheese, or a Margharita pizza, or just go with a generic pizza, and call it 5/8 of a slice. if you're within a hundred calories, it'll all come out okay in…
  • it's a good time for one of the "meal replacements," perhaps. I sneak in a Zone bar. Lately I've been drinking a Shakeology shake, it's has the nutrition to balance my sporadic eating, and keeps me going until late morning. I also have a stock of Greek Yogurt and hard boiled eggs (I ditch about 2/3 of the yolk) in the…
  • Cottage cheese, Egg Whites, Chicken, Fish, and Protein shakes! :)

  • Have you tried www.bodyrock.tv? Very P90X-ish vids.
  • I'm a fan of the Nutrition Diva, one of the Quick and Dirty Tips podcasters. She did a podcast/article about this exact topic. http://nutritiondiva.quickanddirtytips.com/is-coconut-water-good-for-you.aspx Interesting Facts: Coconut Water is not the same as Coconut Milk. It has zero fat. It does have natural sugar. From the…
