  • Nice Thread! Had my Road bike since 2010 and only got started seriously in February this year. At the same time I started tracking on MFP! So far clocked up around 1400mi since and going strong. Have entered the Ballot for next years 100mi London-Surrey ride which is more than a challenge and half for me, since the Surrey…
  • Not all salts are bad for you. When you do a lot of cardio (I'm a keen road cyclist) you do need to check your hydration level and most importantly your electrolytes (Minerals vital for muscle function and all sorts). The more you sweat the more you'll lose and the need to replace them. As I don't like sugary sports…
  • Having worked on hundreds of big productions ... the one that impressed me by far the most (set design, lighting, sound performance) has to be Aerosmith at the inaugural Abu Dhabi F1 GP set within the Ferrari World building on Yas Island in 2009. The one I always have the most fun at has to be Nickelback. Saw them in Abu…
  • used a crafty little iphone app which calculated it for me based on sex, age and height, I suppose. am now at lower end of the "normal" range (with ideal weight being bang in the middle) Guess any other method mentioned above does the job too. ;)
  • yep ... went a cup size down (if not two by now). At 5"4 when weighing 142lbs i was a 32D, somewhere on route went down to a 32C and now at 116.6lbs the last purchased one feels a little bit empty again ;) I suppose it's ok since 24lbs of the total loss was body fat, and at my age .. well what can i say? lol
  • How about picking an averaged size of the lot as a base and log it as 1.5 servings if you eat a large one ;) No nutritional value is 100% accurate no matter how precise you weigh and log your foods. Main thing is you enjoy your eggs ;)
  • Great you've started that thread and not me lol The diet industry has never been any of my concern since I've actually never been on one of those crazy ones (nor have I taken any weight loss products) as all I ever did and will do in the future is portion control, smart choices and pumping up my activity level ;) The…
  • Thanks .... Well put ;) though The bulk of the discussion is about the content of the documentary, which I would guess not everyone who commented here has actually watched! Am still fascinated by the dynamic the subject has taken on lol
  • Yep .... and the studies about foods wrapped or stored in plastic! .... The corn syrup thing was just the topic of the first of a three part documentary I was watching. Why so many got hung up on the sugar bit is quite a mystery to me. I totally agree ... sooo many factors playing a part in todays obesity epidemic that…
  • ridiculous or not .. the thread title is the title of the documentary I was watching last night. The Topic itself however has taken on a life of it's own lol
  • Prematurely posted the reply before having actually replied lol ... done now though ;)
  • Oi.. behave! My post, my thread. If you can not handle an open exchange, you're free to vent off somewhere else. Anybody who has anything (and I mean anything) to contribute is most welcome what i'm concerned. The choice is yours!
  • Seriously? Now this is the kind of info I was after when I opened the thread in the first place. Thanks for that!
  • I don't think it's the thread that has ;)
  • Pmsl ... Im sure there's a lot to say about that one too ... But unless they've force fed any of you against your will (in which case they should be imprisoned anyway) one can hardly put the blame for excess flab on them (it's too easy and doesn't get us (women) anywhere! ;) x
  • I figure, debating is very much an American thing. I believe over here, the intense exchange of opinions and all that goes with it, would be more considered an argument than a debate. Hence people tend to take it personal when the other doesn't concurr with their opinion. I like the idea of getting all firy about a…
  • Hmmm.... I'm neither a doctor nor dietician .... But ... Since IBS is after all about irritable bowels the best Tip I can give is to experiment with different foods and see which ones are your triggers (not everyone's IBS is the same) and stick to those you can tolerate. And since diarrhoea flushes out a lot of good…
  • Used runkeeper for over 6 months to track my bike rides and walks. But always had to manually put it in to MFP although they're linked. Runtastic does a much better job (even my squats and crunches ;)) Though not sure about it on android as I'm on iPhone.
  • Thanks :) and there I was thinking last night nobody is going to read my post to begin with lol .... Thoroughly enjoyable responses. Let's see what part 2 of the documentary next week will spark off ;)
  • Pmsl ... That's the funniest yet lol
  • You're welcome :) isn't the debate about a topic (and various aspects of it) part of the fun? ;)
  • Lighten up and read again: it's just about a documentary on tv last night. I'm not saying at all sugar is evil nor do I talk bad about bacon .... Though good quality bacon (or salmon or whatever) does not need added sugar to make it taste better. I love my bacon sandwich and my chocolates ;)
  • Just saying the OP (me) is actually German too lol so Hello to both ;) Am all in favour of a balance between collective and individual welfare. And while we are all responsible for our own choices, we can not ignore the effect they have on the collective and vice versa. As a collective we are also responsible for the…
  • Amen to that lol
  • I hear ya ... and you're welcome ;) and for the future (and the new you) stay clear of guys who bring you junk food! Lol x
  • Not at all ... Only spotted this one after I posted the thread with the docu title. Have recorded it to watch later. It's all good stuff along the same line ;) Am curious what kind of responses this thread title would get ;) lol
  • Uuhhh intrigued ... What's it called?
