Wow - this helps me to think about it a bit. I tend to give away my power and turn to food for comfort. Thanks

Bingo! It's generally hard for me to be consistent with a deficit. When everyone's saying I looked great then I guess I just gave up on the diet and went straight into gaining mode because it was easier and I don't have the tools to maintain, deal with holidays, boredom, what to do when I'm tired, etc. down yet. I just…

Thanks for the positive support. I was giving context because I have identified that it's emotional eating. I regret giving TMI. Anyway, my BMI is 21.5. Need more tools especially for holidays...

I'm sometimes there with the gluten-envy and feeling bad about it can make me throw away all my hard work. I try and be happy that others can have a less restrictive diet but acknowledge that I want to be healthy and for me it is an either or option.

Me: 0 The Binge: 4 Thanks for this thread

I know I am late in the discussion...I have Celiac disease so I am gluten free and counting calories. Like others said, it's absolutely possible with smaller portions and gf food doesn't have to be demonized.

I carry a 64 oz water bottle and try to do most of my drinking in the morning before lunch. It helps both with my vocal health and to keep me from having to pee all hours of the night. Yes good bladder muscles are in order.

Thanks for posting this guide. It's been very helpful to see how my habits of oversized portions get me off track. Now I am weighing and logging everything and the scale does not lie. I may be imperfect but the scale is right on.

Count me in!

So, would you base maintenance calories on current or goal weight? And how often would you reset goals?
-
I will try that and see if it helps, thanks!

Thanks for this. I've been limiting fatty protein for medical reasons but need to be more thoughtful about diet.
-
I can try that. Thanks!

Thanks! I feel like I have been successful with weight loss at 1700 but this week am so hungry. I think I will increase water intake and see if that helps :)

Thank you for this reassurance! I eat chocolate everyday too and am so happy even in calorie restriction because of it.

Thanks for this thread. I'm glad the weight is melting off but not used to the rapid clothes size changes!!

Hi, I'm exclusively breastfeeding my five month old and I have added 400-500 calories for breastfeeding (or subtract from total cals in). I end up eating about 1600-1700 calories a day. fwiw my milk supply is good.

For me, I grew up in a home where everyone had an eating disorder: mom snuck food and overate, dad fasted during day and binged when home, sister had bulimia by twenties and I stress ate and went from fad diet to fad diet between teens and twenties...only succeeding with an ideal weight achievement during a four month…

I had my daughter on October 16 and am trying to lose 25 lbs. Doing T 25 and almost done with beta but have hit a plateau and scale won't budge. My oldest is 2 1/2 so stress may be a factor. Looking for support, too.

Hi there! I'm a BFing mommy to an 11 month old boy. I've been here on MFP since after passing the point where I could safely breastfeed and restrict calories...but I don't think I ever really go below 1500 calories since I add back my breastfeeding calories even now that my son is eating solids. I still have a ways to go…

Aha! Great, thanks. So...tic tacs are a go :)
