  • They may well be harder than on the road, so if I practice in a doorway on rollers, I'll be more confident outside. It's an old bike with the gear levers on the cross bar, so have to take my hands off the bars, then press with a fair amount of force to change gear (which throws my already useless balance off). I'm not…
  • Ok, thank you. Definitely an investment I need, wiped out today while attempting to change gear (still not used to racing bikes...)
  • Thanks for the pointer towards the elite range :) I've just been doing some research into these: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/elite-v-arion-parabolic-inertial-rollers/ opinions? I'm thinking these will be good due to the resistance unit
  • I had an ex a few years back before I went to uni.... I was 18, and a normal weight (could still fit in uk size 8 dresses), just with what weight I did have on my stomach. I also stand really awkwardly drawing attention to me stomach. His parents *forced* me to take a pregnancy test, insisting I was about 3 months…
  • Thanks everyone :) I will give a foam roller a go then - anything to stop this pain :-/ I am managing better with 30ds this time round than with my last attempt - last time I spent most of the day collapsed on the sofa after it, this time it's pretty quick recovery... As for walking not being too bad on calves, well my…
  • Open mouth chewing really really really does my nut in... And when people don't realise they're doing it... and think they have perfect table manners.......
  • Figure skating used to absolutely knacker me out! I used to do an hour lesson followed by a two hour public skate once a week - I was exhausted after it... funny how since stopping that I've gained weight...
  • When I've spent three hours scrubbing my house to within an inch of its life, I'm going to log something - usually 0.5-1 hour of light cleaning... When I moved out my last house, I spent 13 hours packing, moving heavy boxes up/down stairs and scrubbing - I counted that as 6hours light cleaning - was no where near eating…
  • I once had someone text me, I didn't reply, she then sent another message having a go about playing around, I replied with "whatttt??" then she had a right go at me saying I know what and having a right stressy tantrum at me... turned out, she honestly though I was her husband, and when I texted her back, the number came…
  • Hey, I'm from Durham :) Open to FRs, willing to help support people on this journey :)
  • For a less healthy addition, baileys and chocolate (drinking chocolate/cocoa works) :) Last year I went a bit over with the baileys though, added baileys instead of cream/milk with the same quantity.... Got drunk just looking at it...
  • So what is clean eating? Would my home cooked spag bol count as "clean" as it has half a tonne of veg in it and nothing processed? In fact most of my cooking is processed stuff free, does this count as clean? This is how I was taught to cook when I grew up - lots of fresh veggies etc, never really heard the term clean…
  • Try Pilates and yoga, I also found that when I was ice skating and strengthening my hip every week that my bursitis flared up less often. I also agree it could be caused by your back, that was eventually diagnosed for mine.
  • I have fibromyalgia, joint hyper mobility and a few other pesky disorders... I've just started exercising again and I must admit it has done wonders! Add me if you want to help support each other :) people who don't have these kind of issues can't understand how a 5 minute walk etc is such an accomplishment :)
  • Pilates is a fairly low calorie burn exercise - is better for strength and flexibility, however, according to mfp it burns around 120 calories in 50 minutes. Compared to the 260 odd for half and hours run/30DS... I will up my calories as if I'm moderately active and then if I do anything extra I will log those as exercise…
  • bump to watch when I'm bored of supersize v superskinny
  • Thanks :) I will have a look at those :) suppose if I start low with weight and work on my form I will be less likely to get injured...
  • Nice one :D you look great and it must feel so good being out and being active :D
  • Haven't read the article yet, but just wanted to say that my ex's grandma was diabetic, she lost weight on weight watchers and her diabetes basically went away - she was off all the medication for it and her doctor actually asked if she was sure she was diabetic with the readings of insulin and blood glucose that he had…
  • I do log things like food prep, cleaning and shopping, but I always underestimate the time I have done, and any I now don't eat back exercise calories as I eat TDEE - 20. I log these kind of things because with having fibromyalgia, it isn't something I do regularly, it really does tire me out and it's more exercise than I…
  • Chocolate :D little bits are lots of calories (and very tasty :p) try snacking on things like bananas, grapes, other fruit, eat it regularly and that will add up the calories, also try things like instant noodles with a cuppa soup added, rather than just either one. Find a food you really enjoy and snack on it or try and…
  • I use Pilates as I have fibromyalgia, and I find it doesn't cause too much pain. It's more intense than yoga I think so might be good to do in rotation?
  • Have they looked at chronic fatigue or similar as a possibility?
  • drool..... I really need a pudding cheat day at some point.... hot chocolate fudge cake with real vanilla ice cream and cream... the cream soaking into the ice cream and the fudge sauce just running into the melting creamy goodness.....Or a nice pavlova with fruit, causing death by cream....

  • Callipers are accurate if you measure correctly and consistently (does take practice though) I use Accu measure callipers, that were a fiver off amazon. These were recommended by quite a few fitness sites. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000G7YW74/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  • Hmmm, think I am eating enough then, surprisingly since starting exercise again I have had more energy than before, I'll keep the calories where they are for now then... Dancing sounds fun :) and if something is fun, I'm more likely to do it :) Thanks :)
  • I probably count as a Nerd and a Geek and a boffin and any other terms you want to throw at me :p Im quite a big gamer, ps3 and sims 3 on my computer, but mostly with rpg games... Im aspie and dyspraxic so I used to be the person picked last for teams because of social ineptitude and because the ball was more likely to hit…

  • Thanks :) I will try swapping exercises and cutting down on eating back my exercise calories :)
  • Besides Pilates I stick to walking, skipping (rope jumping) and things like that - I have fibromyalgia and hyper-mobility so can't do anything too high impact currently. I am planning on getting a dance work out dvd to get some more cardio in there. What other info is needed? I nearly always eat most of my exercise…
