It sounds like you are trying to use intermittent fasting to discipline yourself. That is a very restrictive window. You may also need to look into other coping mechanisms to regulate your emotions or whatever else is going on. I am going to try the am I hungry app.

I have had trouble staying focused lately on diet and fitness goals. I work and go to school from home. Due to covid regulations and precautions that causes me to stay in even more. I think that is what is getting to me. I am trying to apply what I know. It may be good to connect with someone else for support. Count me in.

I have been trying to increase fiber and protein to decrease my appetite. Fruits like berries, oranges and melons are said to have water in them to help with feeling full and help with hydration.

I bought a little personal hand held atari video game system to occupy my hands and give me something to do during some down time. You can't eat a play video game at the same time.

I like pf because with my current work schedule going to the gym often is inconvenient. I have equipment and videos at home. I want to go to the gym sometimes because their equipment is more upgraded than mine. With low fees I can keep my membership and it is there when I decide to use it. I have taken advantage of the…

SmIth5250 I am trying to go more plant based also. I am not vegan or vegetarian but most days I don't eat meat. For health reasons I think it is better that way. Support is helpful.

This is the group for those of us that use food as a drug. I used an online therapy that helped me a lot. Sometimes, I still have to review what I learned and readjust the techniques and tools. It does cost something. 2 years ago they did a black Friday sale and gave it for half price. It definitely helped though.…

I think it helps to plan how we are going to handle the holiday season. There is food being handed out at work, get togethers, parties and the holiday meals. In addition to the holiday festivities, my family has several birthdays to celebrate in November. If we have a reasonable and doable plan then it may help us not get…

I try to eat clean. I have some bad habits also. They creep in at times and derail me. We can support each other.

high fibrous meals with alot of raw vegetables. different kinds of lettuce, cabbages, tomatoes, (cooked black beans) cucumber etc., It takes longer to eat because they require a lot of chewing. It hits my stomach. Drinking water with psyllium fiber before and/or during a meal also helps with satiety.

cravings. mostly sugar cravings. I use food to celebrate. I also use food to numb bad feelings or just distract me from them.

I know some people that are getting results with if. Some people are combining it with a diet such as low carb or keto. They love the great results.

Can you reach out to some people around you in an attempt to make some more acquaintances? Some of the emotional eating may be feeding some loneliness. I have read that when people feel the need to eat at night it is common to crave fatty and sugary foods. It is also harder to have a social life when you work nights.

Keep up the good work

July was not that great. I stuck to my plan half the time. I am trying to get serious for the month of August. I am committing making dietary changes and being serious about my fitness.

I have done it before. That is the only way that I can take in Cayenne pepper. I did not see any noticeable results but I did not continue it either. It is suppose to boost metabolism.

I am taking 2 medium size potatoes for lunch. People often forget that potatoes are vegetables. They are one of the most starchy ones but, they are still vegetables and have nutrients. To help control my blood sugar I usually have apple cider vinegar after lunch. It tastes as awful as it sounds but I have found a…

Roze65 I think that subconsciously I use weight to withdraw also. It very well may be a defense mechanism. Food is a drug of choice. It is legal and socially acceptable. You can never go cold turkey and totally stay away from it.

I also add a little cinnamon and sometimes a mix of spices such as cinnamon, cardemom, nutmeg. They are usually marketed as cake spice or something along those line but it is always a mixture of those spices and a couple of others. Cinnamon also has the health benefits such as regulating blood sugar, cholesterol and…

I use a vanilla protein powder with almond or cashew milk.

I do good with the clean eating about 80% of the time. I can live with that. I have still have some junk food desires. I usually mess it up on Friday night. I am trying to make some improvements on that TGIF thing. lol

I know I eat emotionally and compulsively. Sometimes, I make preparations for it by having things on hand that it is okay to nibble on such as carrots, celery, apple slices, popcorn and/or a tomato and cucumber salad. These don't do much damage in the calorie count. They have nutrients. If I do over indulge it is not…

It is a process and a journey. We will mess up sometimes. That is part of the journey. We just keep going and keep trying.

I think that stress is my main trigger. Stressful times and the daily stresses of life. I am doing a lot better. There is still a lot of room for improvement though.

I eat emotionally. We know that life is full of ups and downs. I am learning to not use food as a drug. Right now the biggest challenge for me is when I get home at the end of the day (stress). That is when I do the most damage. For that reason I keep my calorie count down in the earlier part of the day so that in the…

My biggest weak spot is when I get in from work. I always overindulge or consume something I should not. I guess I need to find something else to find another indulgence for that one time spot.

I have heard this several times. I will try this.
