Hey! I am 5'3 and in college! I know what it is like to gain weight... I feel like its so hard to lose!

Hi! I am a sorta newbie to running but I have run multiple 5k's and have placed in my age division and I am currently working on running a half marathon! The key is to start slow and not to go to fast. Going to fast only leads to injury! As for eating, eat a small low fiber meals particulary 30 to 40 min before you run.…

I'm 5'3 and I am trying to! It would be great to go home for the holiday and everyone would be shocked at how different I look ! Feel free to add me (:

Feel free to add me! (: Motivation is definitely a huge key in weight loss success!
-
Count me in! This sounds like a great idea!

You have to start slow. Try running for 30 seconds then walking for a minute. Do this for 5 minutes. Work your way up from there (: you'll get the hang out it and feel so much better
-
Do you feel like it is accurate?
-
I don't think so. When I reached a plateau I looked at what I was eating. For example if I was eating mainly carbs, I switched it up and added more protein and vice versa. It seemed to work for me. You might want to try lowering your calories again back down to 1400 for a week and see if that works.

I do too! I've tried to limit my fruit intake to one fruit a day but sometimes I go over. If I know I'm going to eat multiple fruit a day, I make sure nothing else I eat that day will be high in sugar!

I'm 5'3 as well. CW:136 GW:130 UGW:125!

I'm with you! I am 5'3 as well! I feel like since we are shorter we look heavier than we are! Lets lose these lbs!
-
Typically I don't eat back my exercise calories. Very few days I do though.
-
Thanks everyone for the advice! Also, do you think I should up my calories from 1200?
-
I know the feeling. I'll lose ten then gain seven only to lose it again and gain it right back. We need to just keep working hard and staying on track! Feel free to add me and we can motivate each other!

Hey marie! I am ashlee. I am in college and unfortunately i've gained more than the freshman fifteen. I am using MFP to lose weight to become healthier. I am also looking to become lean and fit. I want to actually feel my age and feel healthy. Feel free to add me. We can encourage each other.
-
I am also trying to run a half marathon! I've already ran one 5k and I am running another on may 5th. I am slowly adding more distance each day. Feel free to add me and we can motivate and coach each other on!

I'm in school to be a nurse but I work as a nurses assistant so I understand the crazy shifts! Feel free to add me! We can support each other!
-
I can but I am trying to avoid sweets altogether to be healthier. I know dark chocolate in small amounts can be beneficial for you so I may try that.
-
Those are really good ideas. Are stretch island fruit chews good?
-
Totally agree with you. We all do this at some point or another!
-
It's ok! Tomorrow is a new day! Just start fresh and don't dwell too much on it! I gave into cookies today.... Like I said tomorrow is a new day! Start fresh with a positive attitude.

Great job on being a size12 now! That's awesome! MFP has definitely helped me lose weight! I am sure you will get to that size 8/10
-
I am fairly new here as well! You can add me and we can encourage each other!
-
No, but I am going to be applying for a special agent job in the near future and they have to pass a fitness test
-
Sounds great! I feel like it is so much harder to lose weight in college because of food availability!
-
Exactly! Being on a college student budget really makes it hard to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables considering the cost! I've read articles that said motivation and having people support you losing weight make you 3x more likely to lose weight!
