Finished Week 6 Day 1 last night. iced my left knee for a bit afterwards, but no real pain or soreness today. I am going to finish this and then keep going!!!

Completed week 5 this morning. I ran for 22 minutes, 1.8 miles. Legs have been sore all day, especially my thighs/hamstrings.

Completed Week 5 Day 3. I ran 1.8 miles in 22 minutes and walked a little over a mile for a cool down. Legs are definitely feeling it, but proud of how far I have come in 5 weeks.

I ran for 15 minutes to start week 4 day 3. I was running with some guys from church who can do 10 milers easy. I am going to run with them again this Sunday and am confident I can do it. I think now it is just breaking through the mental barriers. We will see.

Completed week 5 day 2 tonight. Doing pretty good. Legs are feeling it, partly from doing plyometrics X last night.

Great job higher vibes. Just completed Week 5 Day 2 tonight.

I got a wrist one without a strap and hate it. I want a polar for my bday.

One of my favorites but is probably a little closer to 500 cals given the portion I eat is purdue boneless skinless chicken breast stir fried without oil in asian fortune general tso sauce, and green giant frozen chopped broccoli, served over brown rice. yes you could probably do better with fresher chicken and veggies and…

Not an expert and this free advice is only worth what you paid, but doing a frog stretch could help. The best stretch for me is the 10 - 11 minute warm up stretch from P90X Kenpo X. I seem to never have problems if I follow that. basically saunter cycle helps stretch waist and sides, crouching prayer and rocking stretches…

Keep it up Ssoftw. You're doing great. A setback would be taking a week off. Modifying it so you can keep going is moving forward at the pace your body dictates. I finished Week 5 Day 1 last night. Knees aren't bothering me today (yet), but my hips are a little sore.

Well I ran for 15 minutes, over a mile (we hit the mile mark at about 12 mins), and I probably could have gone longer but we were still running away from the cars so the back of my mind was, I still have to make it back.... hehe

Instead of Week 4 Day 3 I ran with some guys from church. I ran 15 minutes, then did run/walk intervals for another 30 minutes. I got week 5 day 1 tonight. I would be worried about Day 3 this week, but after Sunday, I know I can do it.

Couch to 5k way for people new to (or long time away from) running to start running again with a short term goal of getting you ready to run a 5k in 8 - 9 weeks. Basic idea is run a little, walk a little until you get to longer and longer stretches of running and shorter and shorter stretches of walking until you can run…

Been a few days since I checked in. not a great weekend. But I did Week 4 Day 2 Thursday night. No issues. Sunday I went running with a couple guys from church and didn't follow C25K. I did a total of 45 minutes starting with a 15 minute run, with several other 5 minute runs.. Gonna do Week 5 Day 1 tomorrow. I am running…

Just completed Week 4 Day 2. Ran about an extra minute into the cool down. Feeling good.
-
Good job!! Got Week 4 Day 2 tomorrow. Felt great after Day 1
-
Finished Week 4 Day 1. Did really good. Also did P90X Chest & Back today. My pace was a little slower because my kids ran/walked with me the first 14 minutes or so. Really proud that the 5 min runs didn't hurt much and felt like I could have done more.

Finished Week 3 Day 3 and feel great. A lot better than Friday. Lesson learned. I think I am ready for Week 4, we will see on Tuesday. As far as skipping ahead, I would say start where you are comfortable and build from there. For us that literally came off the couch week 1 was a good place to start.

When I started 5 weeks ago I was having pretty wild fluctuations. It seems my body is getting used to it and only in the last week has it been more steady. Still a few pound difference throughout the day and day to day is normal.
-
Completed Week 3 Day 2 tonight. I am thinking I need to rethink my routine. I completed P90X Legs and Back about an hour before my run. I stretched really good but my calves were killing me the last 3 min run and 3 min walk. Probably need to take tomorrow off and see how I do Sunday, right now I am not sure I am ready for…

scotch neat. As long as you stay reasonable, seems it is the mixers that will get ya, margarita mix, sour mix, etc. Keep em simple and you should be good.

Also your body may need a few weeks to adjust. I am in my 5th week and it is really starting to come off for me now. Also don;t forget to do measurements and how you feel. That could be a better indicator.

I am five weeks in and still not willing to post a picture. Although you have me thinking about it. I wish I had started back when I was 25. I am 41 now with two kids. Luckily my wife is being super supportive. I'll send a friend request. I am having great success over the last 5 weeks, felling better, exercising about…

I also heard that you shouldn't do 500 calories on consecutive days. I would try to net (after exercise) 1200 for a few weeks and see how you feel. I also think if you are doing this you will have little margin for error and should be using kitchen scale, as well as a fitbit or bodymedia or something like that. You seem…
-
yeah, I am not using a kitchen scale and think I am overestimating calories burned. My target is 1800 or so, and try not to go to much over that even when I exercise. I am thinking about getting a kitchen scale and something like the Body media or fitbit or at least something better than the newbalance HRM i have so my…

I am looking at the body media. It syncs with MFP, smart phone, etc, seems to be getting good reviews. there are some threads about the Fitbit, basically give similar information but smaller and more comfortable. Also seen several people recommend the polar F7 or F4 heart rate monitors. I bought a NewBalance one at target…

2 lbs a week would 1k calorie deficit a day. that is quite a lot and will take discipline. I am targeting 1 lb a week, 500 cal deficit but I am doing a little better than that. Lost 6 lbs and am in the middle of week 5.

Finished Week 3 Day 1 last night. My left calf had bothered me on some of my previous runs so I stretched it out real good, but I think at the expense of my right calf. The last 3 minute run and last 3 minute walk were hurting. 2 minutes into the cool down though it felt fine. Still was a little harder than I expected.…
