  • Thanks, this is helpful. I will do my best to move more and eat reasonably and still enjoy my vacation!
  • Wow, this is all good stuff that I need to digest and figure it all out as I keep going. I like they way some of you put it in just plain English for me to understand and do what I need to do in order to lose weight. I need to stop starving myself, eating 1500 calories a day when I am burning over 2400 is killing me...I am…
  • Okay, thanks everyone...I will try not to stress over it too much! I am going to start eating more calories this week and continue on that pattern for the next 4 weeks and see how things go. Will let you all know! Thanks again for all the advice and support, it is great to be on this board and have people to talk to about…
  • Sigh! Now I am even more confused....yes I have been yo-yo dieting for years, one year I am down and the next back up again! I have been on Weight watchers and tried to do it myself a few times so not sure I have been supressing myself all the time but definitely not always eating my exercise calories but I did use to eat…
  • Thanks everyone, all these are good points and things I will need to play with and adjust to see what works for me. My FB profile is this below....I guess I am not tracking properly on the weekends but I changed that last weekend and now putting down everything I put in my mouth even when I over induldge! So the next few…
  • Thanks!
  • Thanks, this is helpful...I will give it a try!
  • Makes sense...thanks for your help!
  • Thanks, this is helpful. This is a new week and I learned a lot over the weekend. I will follow all the good advice and hopefully the results will be better next week. Thanks again to you all and good luck on all your journeys!
  • Thanks, this is all new to me so advice is helpful from all. I will eat what MFP tells me based on my calories burned on FB and the adjustment given to MFP even if I think it is high right now but will see how it goes. I am burning about 2400 each day so yes I guess I should be eating at least 1800 calories! Thanks again
  • Thanks again! This has been great...onto next week!
  • Thanks, I will try that just thought some things couldn't be weighed but I guess they all can :) And yes, I am really not restricting anything but trying to eat clean with no processed foods.
  • Thanks, I will definitely log everything and follow the calories I am given and see how it goes. Sorry, thought I made it public....I think I fixed it now! Thanks for all the help.
  • Okay, so I set my MFP and FB to lose 1 lb per week with sedentary and it now gives me 1410 calories per day WITHOUT the FB adjustment. Just today with the FB adjustment so far it is telling me to eat 1674 calories, that seems really high still! Do I really have to eat all those calories? Sorry for all the questions I am…
  • Thanks! You have been very helpful...this all makes sense. I just have one last question...when you say do not track step-based activity in either FB or MFP does that mean that I should not push the button on my FitBit to start tracking an activity either? I should just let FB determine the steps, etc by itself even when…
  • Thanks again to both of you! It all seems to confusing...I don't get why it tells me I should eat 1700 to 1900 calories based on my calories burned and the deficit on FB and the adjustment given to MFP. Your calculations above make more sense @NancyN795‌ that I should eat 1400 calories per day. I know that the scale can be…
  • - YES, I do have a scale and weigh everything I eat during the week....I do try to account for putting things in my mouth that I did not measure like tasting food while I am cooking, etc so this is why I always eat less that the calories given to me each day. - I have 40 lbs to lose, I thought doing 1.5 per week made sense…
  • Great thanks....I think I got it!
  • Okay, so if I am doing a low impact or high impact aerobic workout does that mean I should not input it into the exercise tracking on MFP? My FB will count the calories burned on this workout and update MFP? Thanks for your help!
  • Thanks, I think I get it now :) Guess I will try things out this week and see how it goes!
  • This is my question as well...I just started using my FitBit with MFP today. Previously, with MFP doing my calculations I was on 1220 calories and then whatever I earned for my workout that day...sometimes I ate the extra and other times I did not. Now that I have it linked with FB, I still input the activity on MFP with…
  • Sorry, the jerk comment was NOT for anyone else besides the person that was questioning my spelling error, again to each their own so if it works for you then great....my mission is different and it's what works for me. Good luck to all.
  • Okay, spelling error no need to be a jerk about it :) And yes, ice cream is definitely not the most healthy food around but again MY opinion, don't want to start a war here :)
  • To each their own but I don't understand...sure, you can be thin and lose weight but it doesn't mean you are healthy. For me, this is a lifestyle change to put better things into my body. Sure, I have a treat and do eat things that may not be good for me at times but overall this journey is to be healthier and if losing…
  • I just started MFP this week after being on WW off and on for a few years. I lost 30 lbs this last time on WW but didn't want to renew my online membership since I know everything I need about the program. I had the same concerns, I never ate my activity points but I always ate my weekly 49 points on weekend so I could eat…
  • Thanks again for even more great input. I have about 25 lbs to lose, it should be more but I have found out in the past that if I go lower than a certain weight I start getting sick and not feeling great. My body seems to work better at a higher weight than what the "normal range" is for my age and height. I really do eat…
  • Okay, so question I assume TDEE is different from what MFP sets as your calorie count when you put in your weight, activity level and pounds per week you want to lose, is this correct? How do I calculate my TDEE and is this better than what MFP gives me? I have never eaten my exercise points/calories when I was on WW so…
  • Thanks everyone! I appreciate all the help and encouragement....I did set it to losing just 1 lb per week so not too aggressive but I am sure in time I will get use to it and will use some of these helpful tips to keep me going. Thanks again, Rose
  • Hi everyone, I just started the 30DS yesterday and I thought I was going to die! It is definitely a great workout but I have a couple of questions. I assume you do this for 30 days straight or can you take a day off now and then but just keep counting doing the actual workout for 30 days? Just not sure my knees can handle…
