Don't give up on Game of Thrones so easily!! My recommendations: - LOST - Always Sunny - The X-Files - Downton Abbey

Feel free to add me. I've been around for awhile. I go through spurts of logging. Generally, I can do the calorie counting in my head because I eat pretty much all the same stuff. I've never had too many "pals" on here though that are consistent with encouraging me or answering my questions... hopefully that'll change.

I've been on MFP for years. I've been back and forth on how active I've been. I started working out seriously at about this time last year. I just had about a month stretch of inactivity because I was sick and couldn't get to the gym and that just snowballed... I'm trying to get back to 4 days a week at the gym, but I've…

Guys!! We need to stop with all the self-defeating language! I'm guilty of it, too, but I'm working on it and must encourage all of you to do the same! Your biggest body flaw? It doesn't matter! Embrace who you are - good and bad! Perhaps the real answer to that question for all of us is our brains telling us we're not…

Why are you on a 1,000 calorie diet? How did you make that decision and come up with that number?
-
Have you calculated your BMR? My guess is that it is higher than 1200 and you actually need to eat more to lose the weight! :) Edit: Oops, just saw your last post! :)

Maybe one of you can help me out since we're talking about it.. I'm 67 inches tall and 152 pounds. My average heart rate is 160-ish while working out and my HRM says I burn about 450-500 calories in a 45 minute window. Does that sound right?? I have an undiagnosed heart condition that is causing my heart rate to be higher…

^^Yep! Eat at maintenance, eat back your exercise calories, and do strength training! Are you on Pinterest?? I can post some workouts I've done for you. Or add me as a friend and I can share some exercises if you need any. You are gorgeous! Don't think about the number (as you said), but focus on getting strong and toned!…

Age-based formula 220 minus your age (A) = estimated max hr (HRMx) To find your target zonesMHR X .60=( ) MHR X .70=( ) TZ1MHR X .70=( ) MHR X .80=( ) TZ2MHR X .80=( ) TZ3You now have your three personal target zones Key Target Zones 60-70% of max hr: weight loss, building endurance 70-80% " " " : weight management,…

I'm still on 5 pullups... I haven't tried again. I figured I would try about once a week so I don't discourage myself!

or not....

I'm not an expert... far from it, but I second this. Wayyyy too few carbs. I just got a new "case manager" and he knows my biggest goal is to lower my body fat. He has me at a goal of under 240g carbs a day... trying to balance them throughout the day. I aim for 100 grams of protein a day. (I'm not there yet, still working…

I'd much appreciate answers to the additional questions I asked you, Mr_Knight.
-
Why? I'll ask him more about it, but if you have a credited article on hand discussing it, I'd love to read it. Thanks :)

I'm still confused about something. If I set my calories using TDEE with "light exercise" then I don't eat back the exercise calories, RIGHT?? I don't know how I feel about that... If I do that then I'm eating less on days I work out.... well, I'm netting less on days I work out.
-
1995 TDEE based on "actual results"? How did you figure that out? I have a difficult time getting to 100 grams of protein a day. I've been working on it. I'm a picky eater which makes it even harder... I HATE seafood. Haha. Like I said to the other commenter, I rarely eat an hour before working out anyways because I feel…

The reasoning behind the carb tracking is to keep more balanced through out the day. He explained it better than I can...apparently. I'm not sure that it's necessary, but it does seem to be helping me make healthier choices. The reason behind not eating 1.5 to 2 hours before exercising was to ensure I'm burning stored…

I have *not* read all of those threads. A few look familiar, but there's a couple in there that look promising. Thank you!! I'll be sure to read tomorrow :)
-
It might be easy for you!! I'm happy if I can get to 80g of protein a day... perhaps that's really why he had me add the protein powder. Thanks, though :)

My case manager didn't say that paying attention to carbs will do most of the work for me, I'm saying that. He went on about carbs and how they relate to sugar levels and how they should be balanced throughout the day, hence the limits. He said a bunch of other smart-sounding stuff, but I don't recall it. Why is the whey…

My gym was packed when I got there tonight, too!! I decided it was because it was the first Monday after a holiday weekend. If it's this busy the rest of the week I'm going to have to agree with you that it's early resolutioners. The more the merrier, I say!* *Opinion subject to change. The trainer on the floor tonight was…

I log everything most days. I say "most days" because I was sick for over a week and didn't log. I've been logging for so long and am a creature of habit soooo I can do the math in my head on most days. I've had the calories set at 1775 for a bit now, but I've generally been eating my calories back... unless of course I am…

Please? I'd also love some active members as new friends to support me :)

**I didn't read anyone else's responses. I think you should see what your body fat percentage is and aim for a healthy percentage instead of a scale weight. If you had a body composition test done, you would know your bf%, your lean body mass, and your body fat mass. I find these numbers more important than overall weight.…

I am very saddened to see that no one has said GEORGE CARLIN. He's the best, EVER. Also, like others said: Mitch Hedberg and Louis CK. Not Dane Cook. Ugh.

I would definitely go the cupcake route. You could even make it more special by baking them from scratch. They are SO much tastier and you know exactly what goes into the recipe. Plus, like others have said, there's a few swaps you could do to make them healthier, depending on the recipe. Here's a list of cupcake recipes.…

I stopped reading this thread after this post because it was just too much BUT thank you for this book recommendation! I'm going to check it out! If you have any other suggestions, I'd love if you messaged me! I'm always on the hunt for a great book.

So on the days you work out, you eat less? That sucks!

A thyroid problem, you mean? We all have thyroids.... haha.
