I've been on depo for a few years and I have lost about 15 lbs so far this year (pretty even 1 lb per week). So, yes, if you eat at a deficit, you can lose weight on depo!

Banking calories is good. Also, on the weekends it helps me to only have one big meal per day. I will either have a nice brunch and go really light for dinner. Or I will not eat much all day and then go all out to dinner/drinks with friends at night. It makes me feel less deprived to be able to eat normally when I'm at a…

You are 214 lbs and you have been losing weight with what you have your macros set out now? Don't change them, then. Also, it is highly unrealistic that you will lose 5 lbs by the 30th. Don't stress over it.
-
Weight gain is never permanent. Just adjust your calories again and you will lose what you have gained.

I have lost about 15 lbs since Jan 2. (a bit over 3 months). I am 5'7" and started at 175 and am now 160, headed for 140ish. I know that the closer I get to my goal, the slower my loss will be. Once I reach 155, I'm gonna change my rate of loss from 1 lb per week to 0.5 lb per week. So far, I have been VERY consistently…

True. I prefer beer, but I can fit wine into my calories better for some reason. Beer always throws my weight loss off, but when I drink wine I always stay on track.

Log it and move on. Or don't log it and move on to logging the next day. The next day, I may try to lower my calories a bit, but don't stress it if I don't feel like cutting too much. It's one day and under your tdee, so don't stress over it.

I drink wine all the time and lose weight! I probably drink too much for health reasons, but for weight loss, it's been fine.

My diary is open and 95% of the days are filled in since Jan 2 of this year. I eat anywhere from 1300-1800 cals per day, depending on working out. 5'7" and currently 160 lbs. I have lost 15 lbs since Jan 2 without feeling much deprivation at all. I recently have been trying to watch my carbs (past two weeks) because I have…

Halo Top has pints for less than 300 calories. They are kinda expensive since I eat the whole $6 pint at once, so I don't have them often (although, more often now that I've discovered the birthday cake flavor). But, I can easily fit a whole pint into my day and still stick to my goal. Or, have ice cream but just a smaller…

Yeah. And, I don't know about other people's experiences, but with the negative adjustments enabled, the adjustment would only take away about 60 calories if I were in bed literally the entire day. That is such an insignificant amount, unless perhaps you are the type of person to get less than 2,000 steps per day on a…

I think negative adjustment isn't personally helpful. Set MFP to sedentary and then let fitbit do the positive calorie adjustment for you. No need to eat under your "sedentary" calories.

It is only "harder" in that if you are short and close to your goal weight, then you have less calories to work with to stay in a deficit. The math doesn't change though, CICO works the same whether you are 4 ft or 6 ft.

Probably will stop regularly using it after a few months of maintenance, but I will continue weighing myself monthly and am going to come back if I ever see the weight creep up more than I'd like.

I am like you, in that I am not strict about it, but most days I start to eat around 12:30pm and then finish around 8pm, except for my one morning coffee that includes a tbsp or two of half and half.

I've heard that some people love roasted chickpeas. I've never made them or tried them myself, only heard good things. Since you can make them at home, you can use whatever spices or flavor profile you want. Not sure of calories, but at least you'd be getting protein. Example recipe:…

There is your problem. Do you track calories at all? Most people can't lose weight by eating whatever they want (without tracking). You need to either eat less or move more if you are maintaining right now. At your weight and height, it wouldn't be unhealthy for you to lose 10 or so lbs, but I agree with others that a…

I am the same way. Some people add calories in order to hit their goal, as janejellyroll suggested. I don't add calories or eat extra if I am not hungry. So, if I have a day where I only eat 800-1000 gross calories, I just feel less guilty about the extra drink I will have a few days later, or the unplanned trip to buffalo…

I gave up alcohol for two months. I did lose at a faster rate during those two months. I prefer to drink and lose at a slower rate, though. The alcohol is fairly easy to fit into my calories now and then. My trouble spot is the munching on snacks after a drink or two. I've gotten a better hold of that part, and that has…

I'm excited to be able to wear sleeveless shirts and short shorts in the summer without feeling super self conscious. I'm getting so close now! I think this is going to be the summer where I'm not burning up in sleeves due to embarrassment.

Seriously. Just skips the apps and say you're in the mood for steak. Get the smaller sirloin with a baked potato (eat only half) and a vegetable side. Who questions somebody wanting a steak? Haha

The silliest thing I heard was from a coworker. We were at a Mexican restaurant and I was commenting on how huge their burrito was and how they could get about 3 meals out of it, and they were trying to reason out why they could eat the entire thing. They said that the body can only absorb a certain amount of calories at…

As long as you're syncing with fitbit, then I'd leave it as sedentary. Fitbit is supposed to take the guesswork out. If Fitbit gives you calories, then you can eat some of them. I'd err on the side of caution and not eat them back if you don't think you were that active, but if you're getting 500+ calories from fitbit…

I am 5'7" and 164 right now (started at 185), and I can definitely tell I've got at least another 20 to go to not be so flabby. I'm not comfortable in a bikini just yet - little too much body fat. Maybe someone at 160 and 5'7"-5'8" might look okay if they were very fit/muscular (that's not me, yet!), but that's definitely…

I am looking to lose about 25 more. I started at 185, now 165, and aiming for somewhere around 140ish - we'll see as I get closer if I want to be even lower. I am 5'7"

I saw a recipe online that was half a cup of almond milk with an entire pint of halotop mint chip. 305 calories total. You could make it more shamrock-y by adding a bit extra mint extract if it isn't minty enough and some green food coloring (because the halotop mint chip isn't too green).

I started this for looks only. Now, though, I really want to be able to do a pull up.

Agreed with what others are saying about protein and veggies for volume. A great meal that I do for lower calories is some sort of salad. I know people think salads are boring, but you can literally put anything on them. My base is always 3-5 oz of chicken (depending on how many calories I have to spare) on a bed of…
