  • if you lose motivation here and there, why not make goals, at 10 lbs you get XX, at 20, XX, make them worth it to work towards!!!! That's what I did when I first started, the more weight I lost, the bigger the prize!
  • For me, its too hard to stick to, if I want to splurge on a Saturday, I just do it, and then maybe workout harder the next day, splurging in moderation isn't going to stop your weight loss
  • read this http://www.40by20.com/forum/showthread.php?1298-My-unbiased-reporting-on-the-Advocare-24-Day-Challenge I like it, because he tried advocare, and then just bough supplements that are similar to advocare and wrote about each experience as it was happening daily!!!
  • I Spend $40 at Sams on a large bag of protein powder, I use on a daily basis, not shakes, but add at least a scoop/day to real food, and it takes MONTHS until I have to get more, save your money, just invest in a protein powder you like, and make your own shakes for a fraction of the cost!!!
  • so overall, with my cheat lunch I am over approximately 300 calories for the day, is that bad overall, like say for the week? should I cut calories on other days to make up for a cheat meal? or does that kind of go against the whole point of a cheat meal?
  • which one do you think would be better long term wise? or is it just personal preference type of thing?
  • ok ill definitely try that! thanks!!!
  • ok so just half of exercise calories then each time? I could definitely do that, but would it be ok then to up my calories back to the 1380 per the scoobly calculator (I just lowered it by 100 hoping that a small change would possible help)
  • it depends on what my garmin states, whatever it states it what I put for calories, I know that it isnt accurate to use a hrm when strength training, but I figured that that number is better than using mfp #
  • I use the garmin 15, I previously used the polar ft4 until I needed one that had gps. Sorry, I have opened my diary. I haven't completed my diary for today yet, so please keep that in mind when looking at todays entry. I still have to ask the bakery what kind of bread they had with the sandwich, and then enter any snacks
  • I would be happy with .5 lbs or less a week, just as long as I see a gradual decline. I have lost 36 lbs since last February, so it averages about to be about .5 lb a week I think? When wear my fitbit I usually get between 8-10k steps a day. I use my garmin 15 during my workouts to measure my calorie burn. Yes, I weigh my…
  • I do strength training one day a week (I have a small disability so it makes it difficult to do strength training) but I do it because I know the right side of my body is weaker due to it, so just try and maintain the muscle there.
  • I also have about 100-130 ounces of water a day, a couple cups of coffee in the morning, and then a pop maybe a couple times a month, but thats about it for liquids
  • a meal where I dont count calories, but make sure its not a whole day worth of calories. Like today I'm going out to lunch to a bakery, getting a tuna salad sandwich, so I know it has way more calories than how I normally make mine, Saturday is my stepsons birthday dinner and we are going out to Hickory Park. I will be…
  • I have been really good at maintaining over the past 3 months, but I still have 9 more lbs that I would like to lose and they are SOOO HARD!!! You look great!!!
  • I set my mfp according to the scooby calculator, enter in desk job/little to no exercise, use the daily calories based on goal, and then add in exercise calories to mfp, and eat them back
  • I eat back some of them, I exercise to get healthy and tone, but that also means I need to eat those calories because mfp is set up that if you dont workout, you eat X amount of calories, but the more active you are, the more calories you get to eat. and if you do eat back your exercise calories now, it will be easier for…
  • Hello from a fellow dsm resident!!! I love the mfp community and its a great tool to use!!!! Fell free to friend me if you want!
  • ok thank you guys so much!!! im going to un-sync the two, and just keep them separate!
  • I quit about 3 weeks ago, I still have about 8 lbs to lose, they are coming off slower, but still coming off! I used the gum, and then slowly switched to regular gum, I maybe have a piece of gum a day now. My workouts are SO much easier, I can go further, faster, for longer. I am SOOO HAPPY with my decision. I was going to…
  • I still enter my workouts, but that's because I use a heart rate monitor when I workout, and since my fitbit and my MFP are synced, when I enter in workouts on MFP it asks for the time I started, so it doesn't use whatever fitbit calculated during that time (so it doesn't double-up)
  • Feel free to add me, I try to log in everyday (unless we are away on the weekend or stuff like that) I like looking at diaries too, gives me ideas for food and sees how everyone else does in comparison!

  • quest bar? and then something else to make up for however many calories you need...they have lots of fiber and arent horrible on sodium
  • And if you want to add me as a friend you are more than welcome, I took the same meds (ended on a different one before my dr weaned me off off them) but still gained a lot of weight while I was on them
  • I have that problem too, ESPECIALLY when I go back to my hometown for visits, which just go happens to be this weekend :S I have been chugging a whole glass of water before I have any snacks on the weekend, just to see if I REALLY want it, at first it sucked, but I got use to it after awhile, and dont do it near as often…
  • I would like to know this too, so will you be cutting out food groups that would generally help people with weightloss, such as fruits, etc? I have cut down on my sugars, and that has helped me a lot. But I still have the occasional treats and sweetners. I dont think its necessary to cut it out, because added sugars and…
  • I am giving up alcohol, smoking (I only smoke when I drink so they go hand in hand) and fast food I'm Catholic, but havent participated in it for years, so im anxious to actually do it and stick to it!
