Exercise, while great for you, is not needed whatsoever for weight loss. It can help create a calorie deficit, but that is only needed if you go over calories. Stay under calories and you will lose weight.

CICO is the only road to weight loss. And it's pretty awesome to be able to enjoy whatever foods you like, as long as you control the portions :)

I eat a small breakfast, HUGE lunch, and then a very small dinner. Have been doing this for 2 years, have lost 80+ lbs.

Maybe look in to the app "C25k" (couch to 5k). It trains those who have almost no ability to run by slowly adding running (at your own pace) in with intervals of walking. I went from being able to run 2-3 minutes to being able to run a 10k.

MFP will calculate the amount of calories needed for your body to lose, maintain, or gain weight depending on your current weight. So if you weigh heavier, your body requires more calories to sustain itself. The more weight you lose, the less calories it needs to function, which means you need to consume less calories in…

That's amazing progress! For a true transformation, I'm sure you got the answer to achieving that. Lifting heavy. While I do not support planet fitness, I do think that if you are near one then you should probably try to sign up so that you can have easy access to the dumbbells and some machines. Lifting something is…

I love DDR. My brother and I bought a hard and sturdy pad and reinforced it with wood and even built a custom metal bar like the arcade versions. We downloaded stepmania for the computer and have every song avaible from DDR 1 up to the most current games (arcade and console versions). Have been playing for 10 years, don't…

You don't really need to hit either of them because they are worked in the compound lifts and other various workouts. However, I am one of those who actually enjoys hitting these muscle groups as a supplemental work out. Not dedicating a whole day to them or anything, but just a few extra lifts. Usually I'll add in biceps…

You will not be gaining any muscle whatsoever during a deficit. You will be losing it along with fat. However, this is where macros and lifting come in to play. When someone loses weight purely by decreasing calories, they will "shrink" to a smaller version of what they already are. They will lose fat- but also lots of…

When I started I was at a BMI of 35. I wanted to get from the obese category to the overweight category. And after that goal was completed, I strived for the healthy range. Now that I am considered "healthy" in terms of weight, I don't have a number goal. "Healthy" was around 160 lbs, and I am now at 144-145. Just trying…

I say diet when referring to what I am eating. As in, "My diet consists of blah blah blah". I don't ever say I'm ON a diet, because that's not truly the case.

I agree with the musclepharm combat, taste delicious and have about 25g per scoop (120-130 calories)

Measuring BF is very hard to pull of with accuracy. I'd say your best bet is to simply measure your waist, hips, chest, arms, and thighs with tape every month or so. You CAN also plug these numbers in to an online calculator which can give you an estimate of your BF, but again- this may not be completely accurate.

I started at 230 on February 19th 2014. I'm at 145 today and still losing. You got this!
-
Might be soon. Weight fluctuates strangely- I can lose consistently and then not lose for 2-4 weeks, then suddenly be down 2-3 lbs on the 5th week.
-
For lifting, I like to do normal stretching for about 3 minutes. Then I usually go to one of the compound lifts I will be doing that day and start at a very low weight and work my way up to my first working set, where I initiate the actual workout.
-
This is about 83 lbs down and counting. Still not done yet!

A fully developed lifting routine is key to shaping your entire body. Cardio will make you smaller, lifting will change your body.

About 2 months or so for running, but then I started lifting and it only took about 3 weeks for me to fall in love. Haven't even thought of stopping.

I got a free sample of one of those types of pills from GNC and decided to give it a try. About an hour or so after taking it, I began to feel nauseous and I felt sick all day.

I've completed Insanity and Insanity Asylum. You do not need to incorporate strength training if you follow the program to a T and give it your best. Like some have said, the second month is on a completely different level than the first. You work out for 20-30 minutes longer and the workouts only get harder to the point…

This is only possible for someone who has JUST started lifting weights for the first time. They will experience "noob" gains for a small amount of time before eventually muscle growth halts. After this, you will only be able to maintain muscle while losing fat- although some muscle will definitely be lost as well. You can…

A lot of BCAA's are advertised as being good for muscle growth, but most people I know use them more often during a cutting phase because they supposedly help preserve lean muscle during weight loss and help fulfill protein needs they probably cannot attain on a low calorie diet.
-
I only do cardio when I decide to have an extra snack that puts me over my calorie goal. Normally I stick to my calorie goal and stick with heavy lifting.
-
I believe that losing body fat is very important before attempting to put on muscle mass through a surplus. The more fat you have, the more likely that a lot of the weight you gain while lifting and eating in a surplus will be fat.
-
I cut back on drinking, but not altogether. I like it for cheat meals and calculate the calories the night before.
-
Personally, I am not smiling in either pics. But in the after it is probably because I am trying harder to flex lol.

I agree, Combat Crunch is probably my favorite bar. They keep coming out with new great tasting flavors. Also, Think Thin are pretty good tasting. 22g carbs, 20g protein

The back of my knees, those bones feel disgusting to touch because I can- for the first time- actually touch them.
