  • To the "non talking wall" Feel free to impatient away in my book. A 2 week stall is FRUSTRATING! I think you should give it a go with increasing the calories a bit. My loss didn't slow one bit from increasing from 1200 (BAD idea) to 1370. If anything, the 2 weeks where I stayed at 178 are gone and I am back to…
  • @rayw89 I saw that and thought it was an Easter peep! I'll never look at them the same again :) This Easter challenge may be getting to me, I am hallucinating candy lol!
  • I think you, like so many of us here, have unrealistic expectations of your weight loss (don't worry most of us do even if we don't talk about it!) If you lose 2 pounds a week, it will take 25 weeks to lose 50 pounds. That is just over 6 months. Seriously that is pretty fast when you think about it. Extrapolate a bit and…
  • Here's the breakdown, I'm going a couple of days early because this has just been a super week of wins for me: Jan. 01- 183 lbs Jan. 08- 178.3 Jan. 15- 177.3 Jan. 22- 176 Jan. 30- 175.5 Feb. 7 - 179 Feb.13- 178 Feb. 20-175.7 Feb. 25-173.7 Easter goal-163 Loss to date: 9.3 pounds or 5% since challenge start (so close to…
  • Wahoo! That is incredible! I'm working on losing 50! I started in January, and am a touch shy of 10 pounds down. 40.7 to go!!!!!! I thought 50 seemed like too much in an impossible way, so I'm going at it one pound at a time, one day at a time. Even 40 still seems impossible. So I'll be here going day by day one foot in…
  • @bellafisher74, welcome! I am sorry for the health challenges you face but believe this is a great place to be! You are undergoing so many changes all at once and this is a great opportunity to get help and support along the way! We will all get there together! It's never too late to join...adjust a pound goal for Easter…
  • @rayw89 they diagnosed me with vestibular migraine with persistent aura in June. The dizziness and vision stuff is my "aura". It has been very disabling, and different than my usual migraines. Still a work in progress trying to find some medicine to prevent it....
  • Having a Tuesday happy dance! My doctor says she is pleased with my progress since mid December. I am getting stronger, my posture and back are gradually improving (a big deal with all of the atrophy sigh), and my balance and gait are better. There is still a lot of work to be done, but she said maybe in a month or so I…
  • Wow. I can burn 350+ calories walking at that rate on the treadmill with the incline cranked up. I am 177 pounds and do this regularly for 45 mins. I wear a hr monitor with chest strap, it is steady state cardio, and I average a hr of 150-155 bpm. Some of us get calorie burns like that without lying. It has nothing to do…
  • It was raining out today and there was NOBODY else in the gym except staff. So I cranked up the eighties music on my headphones and pretended I was at karaoke. The staff may or may not have left the front desk to peek in at me. BEST. GYM. DAY. EVER!!!!!!!
  • I drank those about a gazillion years ago in nursing school. Great to sip on in between my breakfast at 0530 and lunch at 1400. I have never used them for dieting. My grandmother did those about 2 gazillion years ago...I think she had the chocolate royale? Anyways, she lost a bunch then transitioned to weight watchers…
  • Sad because you don't look like other people? Might be time to see a professional for some help if you have done this all of your life as it is time to stop. It is one thing to want to better yourself and improve your health/appearance. It is one thing to admire someone else (their body, their haircut, whatever). It is…
  • I hate to break it to you, but it is highly unlikely you will lose at a rate much faster than 4.9 pounds in 2 weeks. That average is NOT 2 pounds a week, but 2.45 pounds a week. Sorry that isn't fast enough for you :(
  • I personally would talk to the person at the front desk and see if they can help you. Explain what happened with your orientation and express your displeasure at not being shown the weights. Let them know you are comfortable with your cardio orientation and ask if there is someone available to show you how to use the…
  • It makes my hair shiny! I put a little in my palm, let it warm to liquid, run it through dry hair root to tip, and that is all. 0 calories for shiny hair lol!
  • two thoughts in no apparent order whatsoever.... 1. You should NEVER lie to your doctor. If you can't tell the truth to your physician, find another one. 2. There are blood pressure medications that are also used to help with anxiety/ panic disorders. A stressed/anxious person with high blood pressure could benefit greatly…
  • Had my first happy weigh in for the past 3 weeks....175.7! That's right, back to 175. My loss is at 7.3 pounds since January 1. Hoping the scale keeps inching in the right direction. But I am stronger, and can fit into a few pairs of my old pants, so the progress is happening slowly but surely! Shirley-I too am marching on…
  • Well ladies and gentleman, I am happy to say that after my few weeks of INCREASED weight today I am back to 175 land. What did I do differently? Absolutely NOTHING! I log my foods, try to eat my calorie goal with nutritious food choices, and am working on doing an activity everyday. My body is getting stronger and I am so…
  • YAY!!!!! My scale is holding at 176/177, and hasn't moved in weeks (only at this since January so that is a drag). Just took some more photos with skin showing...hopefully I have results like yours in a few months! Weight isn't everything....way to go!
  • I'm not there yet, heck not even close. I started at 183, am at 176, but my body is changing. My profile pic is where I am at so far, there's a side view in my pics too. That's where I am at with a start date of January, so 6 weeks-ish of logging, some walking (nothing crazy) and 14 jillian michaels workouts. Not exactly…
  • "Any issues that I have now are no longer to be blamed on my diet. My period cramps have improved greatly to where they're almost non-existent, I handle my stress much better, I no longer obsess about food or weight, my sinuses have improved to almost having no issues at all, my energy levels have improved, I no longer get…
  • Hey, more power to you for casting such a wide net. Somebody is bound to respond, and at least you will have one thing in common (both on mfp). I say good luck! Bonding over weight loss and activities is a great way to lose weight, stay in shape, and potentially more  Way to put yourself out there, hope it works out…
  • Hmmmmmm...WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED TO THIS: "I am now living by "Embrace your beauty and the real you". I am embracing the real me but would like it to be a fit me :)" Or did that just get thrown by the wayside? Might be time to dust it off and try it back on for size  Don't waste your time, energy, or health on…
  • ^^THIS. I have lost 7 pounds in 6 weeks, and mfp still suggests I will lose anywhere from 12-15 pounds in 5 weeks. I am very pleased with my results, but they are NOWHERE near the estimates for me. I don't eat my exercise cals and average 1330 calories/day intake. I personally wish I could turn off those comments entirely…
  • I would have a small small slice of lasagna and a big side of broccoli. Less calories than even your cafe steamers, and would taste a heck of a lot better.
  • I love them! I sautee them until soft, add 1 cup pasta sauce, bring it to a low boil, crack 2 eggs on top, cover and simmer 5 minutes! That's my favorite. Ate it for a whole week for dinner....and now that I think about it will be doing it again tomorrow! It has a nice veggie flavor and I actually prefer it to pasta as it…
  • I can 100% relate...I have been bouncing from 175.5 to 179 and about every range in between for 3 weeks. It's the 177 curse :) BUT (and its a big one) I have lost 3 inches and am getting strong. I can do some things I couldn't before (crunches for a whole minute no stops, girly push-ups, 45 minutes incline treadmill no…
  • I am in a bad place today Start-183 down to 175 last week UP 4 pounds in 2 days to 179 (held in 175s the weekend and until tues) today 178 (was at 176 for weds and thurs). I log, I eat around 1330ish calories a day, and I am exercising daily. Any thoughts? I was doing very well and then....Feb came along! I started the…
  • What is frustrating you? Your loss is really quick....I am at 7 pounds lost in 6 weeks and that is counting my calories and exercising and everything. I tried to look at your profile (your diary, your feed, etc) but can't see that. The only thing that jumped out at me was no friends on your friend list. You might be great…
  • In the US, and many other countries, there really is no acceptable or polite way to comment on a woman's "things" that bounce all over (assumption you are referencing body parts), especially a stranger exercising. Any comment is rude, inappropriate, and very likely sexual harassment. It really doesn't matter if you were…
