  • The challenge is going strong! On track to hit goal and that is fantastic! The health has been a constant struggle....the small fiber neuropathy is getting on my last nerve with the wonky heart rate and high bp....but hey, a year ago I was at 190 pounds so that REALLY wasn't good. Serenity prayer for me....And thoughts to…
  • Remembered that the number of the scale is not a reflection of my worth. There will be ups, there will be downs, and I will make goal by Christmas. Today I also got the duvet out of the closet....fall is here in sunny CA!
  • Thank you for the kind words! You are right that I don't have to add unhealthy eating to my list! I need people who love me enough to say "get over it...the Kelly I know is not a victim and not a quitter so buckle up, man down, and handle it." I don't think I need the tough love, I just need to remember I've come too far…
  • I'll just keep on keeping on :) Slow and steady is my motto.....have to be pretty tight when there are 5 pounds to goal!
  • Did any of you ladies do before/ after pics? I am in a dilemma of deciding the modified 30 day shred with banish fat and yoga meltdown or attempting a body revolution (I am in zero shape unless you count round as a shape) Any thoughts or advice appreciated....
  • Today, when I look down, I see the tops of my feet. Specifically, I see sandal tan lines. And I recall, 10 months back, when I could barely see the tips of my toes and couldn't for the life of me imagine what was on the bathtub floor while I showered until they wiggled at me :D So yeah, 50 some odd pounds later and here I…
  • I like to chop the kale with leeks, toss with olive oil, pepper, a little salt, and feta. I put it..stalks and all, in the oven at 350 for about 20 minutes. I toss it with tongs about 10 minutes in. It is done with the tops are crispy! So the bottom is a bit like ooey goey kale stalks leeks and cheese, and the top is…
  • Cut yourself some slack. You are a superhero. Superwoman. Superworker. Supermom. Superwife. Moms can basically add super in front of everything they do. Don't cut your already too small sleep time to exercise. Watch the calories you eat and stay at a deficit. The exercise is nice for toning, but honestly you will lose just…
  • Went out to eat with a friend, ordered a 600 calorie sandwich and ate half and took half to go. Ordered it with fries (she wanted fries) and only ate 1 bc I really didn't want fries. Maybe I really can change my lifestyle :)
  • I will just be spreadsheet posting all of my weigh ins as that is easier for me :) But, as always, it is still working :) :) :)
  • Today I narrowly avoided all of the Halloween candy, caramel apple pops, pumpkin eggnog, AND pumpkin pie ice cream at the grocery store. Instead, I chose sugar free pumpkin spice creamer. Not bad for a Tuesday :)
  • Oh to run free outside :) This is amazing! So happy for you!
  • Success is definitely yours :) To make such progress in your life, and to be happy with how you look? That is inspiring. Just so nice to see!!!
  • Gym Rat : 1 Haters: 0 Seriously, go you! Obviously the gym workouts agree with you and your lifestyle. You are happier and feeling better. Your hard work has definitely paid off. Such an inspiration! It is amazing what a difference a year can make. Congrats on your success! And your outlook. Such a positive attitude. Love…
  • Forgive yourself when you slip up. You will go over your calories at some point. You will make a poor food choice. You will poorly plan some day and be at the mercy of what is available. You may choose to just go hog wild and eat everything in sight. You will get the flu and not eat for a day or two. You may find your…
  • I will go for 10 minutes of modified yoga a day :)
  • Today I decided my first pumpkin spice latte of the season (WITH whipped) will be when I hit 135 pounds. That's 5.3 pounds from now. Fingers crossed it happens by Halloween :p
  • I have pretty bad dizziness and am lucky to walk a few blocks a week. I try to do chair yoga 3 times a week. Just to put a shout out that calorie counting CAN work all by itself!
  • I sneak protein powder with water into my oats instead of milk. I find by the time I add an apple and cinnamon or banana and pb or cherries and almonds or whatever strikes my fancy I don't notice it. Then again, oatmeal texture pretty much could hide anything! I cook the oats first, then shake up the powder and water in a…
  • Today I weighed heavy for the first time in many many moons, and today I just brushed it off. I did not sabotage myself and go eating everything in sight. Instead I took my measurements and am down 3 inches overall since 5 weeks ago. Not bad for a couch potato :) All is logged for challenge start weight.
  • You could always get yourself a pair of wedge platform shoes. They easily add anywhere from 3 to 5 inches of height and are fairly easy to walk in.
  • Alright for the challenge tally: Challenge Start Weight: 156.9 pounds Challenge Goal Weight: 140 pounds Challenge End Weight: 140.8 pounds Total loss: 16.1 pounds I ALMOST hit my goal of 140 pounds. I am still counting this as a total win as it has a 140 in front of it :D I am also in for the December challenge! Still…
  • I've been on a proatmeal kick...I make 6 servings all at once and have them portioned in the fridge. Each serving has 0.5 cup quick oats, 0.25 cup blueberries, 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon, and 3 T muscle milk whey protein vanilla. I cook up 6 servings of the quick oats, and add the blueberries in with the oats when the water…
  • My hands down favorite is kale chopped with leeks, tossed with olive oil salt and pepper and some feta. Roasted in a shallow pan at 350 degrees until done to your liking, tossing every 10 minutes with tongs. Tops get crispy, bottoms are ooey gooey, serve it over pita or flatbread.
  • I am happy that I have lost 50 ish pounds. I am happy to fit into the clothes I used to fit in, and look like I used to look. I am happy to fit in one chair when I sit on the bus, and don't have to squish to fit. I still have health problems. Loads of them. I am not happy about that. Losing the weight did nothing for that.…
  • As promised for challenge end I have updated my profile pic to my current weight, and yes this is me in my beloved short overalls. Out of fashion for far too many years, and I haven't painted in many moons, but I am over the moon that they fit and I can't take them off. Thank you again for such a lovely group! I will weigh…
  • Me too :) I love friends and am in it for the long haul...well since December anyways! One of these challenges I will get to goal :)
  • You don't need easy, you just need possible! It is likely a good thing you are in charge of your food (you know exact counts on what is in it). Maybe consider some go to snacks or quick meals to have on hand? I keep slimfast shakes in the fridge...not saying it is the best choice but all I have to do is open it and I get…
  • Punch it out :)
  • Thank you for being honest and sharing. I can completely understand the need to control and monitor the calories, especially when work gets in the way. Pre-planning is essential to hit goal for some of us (it works for me but only if I pre-plan or else I go overboard). Please breathe and be kind to yourself. We all have…
