I just make it happen :) My kids are 9, 6, and 3 and I've been running for 1yr+ now and I've never taken them with me - and I'm currently running 5 days a week in preparation for a half. My kids know I'm active. They see me going/coming back from runs, and play (fight/wrestle etc....) in the basement while I do weights,…

I feel the same!!

I don't know much about jogging strollers - even though I have 3 kids haha! I use my running time to be by myself and I love it!! My suggestion would be to wait until you've been running longer and have built up your strength and stamina before you add kids into the mix to avoid injury. Add me if you like!

I love this!!

I got it, I got it, I got it! I got your number on the wall! I got it, I got it, I got it! For a good time, for a good time call....

Canada - Calgary Alberta!!
-
Good to know - I've been wondering the same thing as I'm training for my first half!!
-
Oh and p.s.- if your foot is swollen alternate icing and heat for a night (ending on ice) to help control the swelling

I would say to take it easy and ease into running. I started running about a year ago and am currently training for my first half - and I did the same thing! I was so eager to "be a runner" that I rushed it, and ended up with several injuries to work through. Give your muscle's time to adapt, change and grow stronger - and…

I find that a funny question!! Up here in Canada we ALWAYS take off our shoes!! We NEVER leave them on :)
-
It made me really sluggish feeling - and I was still really *****y!! haha! My Dr had suggested I try the st johns wart and when I went back to him and told him it wasn't helping, that's when he suggested the prozac - and it has honestly made a world of difference for me and my family :) I didn't know that yaz was approved,…

Add me!!

I too suffer with PMDD and my Dr has put me on prozac (sm dose of 10mg/day) - but only for the 10 days or so leading up to my period. So, I usually start it around day 17 and I stop the first full day of my period - guess it's been used "off label" for a while to treat PMDD. I also have tried St. John Wart and didn't like…

I'm here - Alberta! Add me :)

That's where I started!! It's a great way to get you going. A year later, I'm now in training for my first half! Good luck!
-
Add me - I have 3 boys: 9, 6, & 3!

Why is the word Abbreviation so long?
-
how about 3 - blah, blah, blah....
-
Yes!! Me too!!! Good to know!! More reason why I need to stop eating before bed :)
-
nope - I desperately need to work out daily to gain extra calories to eat otherwise it's a loosing battle!!

I wouldn't do it. They basically are telling you stuff that everyone knows: watch portion sizes, eat organic if possible, stay away from processed foods..... You don't need to pay someone $47 for that!

We packed in our food in a pack back every day that we were there - and then we would let the kids have one treat before we left at the end of the day. we're a family of 5 and starts to get expensive not only is it mostly unhealthy. They have small stands through out the park with healthy options - but they are pricey.
-
It depends on my day - sometimes I'm starving and snack all day, other times I'm good with 3 solid meals. I always start my day with a healthy breakfast that's at least 300 cal and I find that helps me get thru the morning (sometimes!)

HaHa - me too!!

You can drastically lower your sodium by making your own food and staying away from stuff that you buy in the middle of the grocery store. Look for things like "low sodium" I make things like brown rice and potatoes in low sodium organic chicken broth for flavour without the butter & salt. I don't believe that it's carbs…
-
I stick to vodka water with lime - or just a splash of juice. If I can I try to avoid club soda as I find it has too much sodium and I have puffy fingers the next day

I've had 3 kids and it's my tummy that's my problem area too. I've thought about a tummy tuck.....

I'm running my first half end of may. I've just downloaded a schedule (google'd half marathon training) and found one that works with my timing and adjust it if I need to. I use a garmin for pace/distance. I used to use apps on my iPhone but have found the garmin much better.

I have a bad back that has been made better with physio and exercise - not sure if that would help you any though as my back problems have been brought on my injuries.

a pound is a pound sure BUT a pound of muscle is smaller in size than a pound of fat. So if you have a person who is 130lbs that is muscular they will look smaller and tighter than a person who is 130lbs of fat
