  • Unfortunately, for me, 250 calories per meal would leave me hungry, there would not be much on the plate for that amount. I eat two or three times per day.
  • Set yourself some ground-rules and stick with them, rigidly, rules such as: Do NOT tell co-workers you are dieting (it is none of their business and they do not have to know) Do NOT tell co-workers when you lose weight (it is none of their business and they do not have to know) DO, however, tell co-workers that you do not…
  • OP forget counting calories whilst pregnant, just eat healthily and cut out rubbish, sweets, cakes and biscuits and your weight will be fine. I am not sure it is good to eat below your TDEE whilst pregnant, seriously. Your baby will take exactly what it needs from you whether it puts your own body at risk or not, you need…
  • I have four pairs of Saucony running shoes. One pair I keep exclusively for racing only, the other three pairs I rotate, I also keep a strict mileage count for each pair so that I know when their time is up. Having more than one pair comes into its own when I might go out running in the rain and they get soaked, stuffing…
  • I have a 10k booked for May (London) A Half Marathon for June (Southend) A 10k for October (Southend) A 10 miler end of October (Portsmouth) Possibilities, but waiting for confirmation that time off work will be granted are for A Half Marathon in February (Torremolinos) A Half Marathon for December (2014) (Lanzarote) I…
  • It is fine to run in the rain, just don't sit around in wet clothes after your run, jump straight in the shower.
  • For as accurate a measurement of how many calories you burn, an HRM is best. However, as a really, really, loose guide if no HRM is available, 100 calories per mile, so walking for one hour at 4mph, means you walked 4 miles = 400 calories - this is a pure estimation but it is not too far off the mark. My own treadmill…
  • Infections can cause water weight gain, once the infection has gone, that excess (provided you stuck to your eating plan) should immediately come back off.
  • Potassium is for the regulation of heartbeat, it is extremely dangerous to have low Potassium in one's body. Bananas, potatoes, eggs and salmon are good sources of potassium. I appreciate the diet you are on but ask youself this, if that same diet has caused you to be low on Potassium, then is it a good diet?
  • It cannot, stop misleading people for your own gains!! People to burn that amount of calories in that amount of time, you have to move about. The End.
  • Free perm for anybody you pass and touch too
  • Lots of people love cardio, all depends where you look. The trick with cardio is to do whatever cardio exercise you enjoy. If you try to do something that seems a chore, you will never keep that up. If you love to run, then do running as your cardio.
  • Only ever wear nylon, nylon teeshirt, nylon bottoms, nylon socks, running shoes made of nylon, nylon bra and nylon underwear, it keeps you warm and is cooling in the summer. Don't forget now, nylon EVERYTHING
  • At a race too don't forget! Always start at the finish!!
  • Women shouldn't run, your uterus will fall right out!
  • lol yeah, with "eat more" and "starvation mode" Need to see the diary, overestimation of exercise calories burned and underestimation of food calories is my bet.
  • Open your diary OP, without seeing your diary, nobody can comment with confidence.
  • It's not rain that bothers me, it is icy cold rain that does me in though. I had that this morning, icy cold rain, in my face, wind too :( I got a little concerned as my feet got wet and then my toes would not warm up, not even after six miles. Having said all that, I was rather impressed that I persevered haha.
  • Go to the doctors in case it is something to do with your discs in your back. Until you know what it is you cannot treat it properly, some injuries require cold packs, others require heat - put the wrong one on the injured area and you can make it 100% worse. If it is inflamed Ibuprofen can help, but what if it is not…
  • I expect to have to watch my portions and watch what I eat for the rest of my life, if I do not, I will end up doing what I have done previously after reaching my goal, namely putting weight back on. It is a small price to pay to be honest, there are worse things a person has to do in life.
  • I second this regarding the 5k being the most hardest of all!! It is like starting out much speedier than either a training session or any other distance race, getting HR up to maximum and leaving it there! It is painful for sure!! I loved 10k races to bits and then I did a HM and now that is my favourite of all, ever, it…
  • Yay I can now update my own post I have just quoted  The furthest I have run outdoors is half marathon.
  • I wear thermal running leggings and thermal running tops. If, when I run in those, I STILL get cold, then the next time I go for a run, I wear another layer on top. I also wear gloves.
  • It is a negligible amount and definitely not worth recording, ESPECIALLY if you are using those calories as an excuse to eat more. How many calories would you burn just sitting watching TV and would you count those? No, of course you wouldn't therefore why count any other calories that involved just sitting there. As for…
  • I second this, I have exercise induced asthma and it is definitely possible to run and improve on pace, I have to take my inhaler beforehand, but that is a small price to pay I think if it means I can continue running.
  • Well done!!!!
  • Really? Real athletes? Define real and define which activity you are on about here. Now then, let me see 270 mins per day for some activities is too much, for other activities it is easy-peasy. Depends on which activity you are doing really. Try not to put everybody into tiny little boxes, it tends to restrict the spirit.
  • Unfortunately, I can't help you with any of that as I don't know what any of that is you are talking about lol. However, I will say this, an HRM is only supposed to be used when the heartrate is elevated, if you were to wear it all day, it would not be accurate as it is only meant for cardio.
  • If there is a race that I want to do and I can get the time off work, I will just sign up. The most I have paid for one race is £41 (just over $65). Some people spend their money on clothes, beauty treatments, drink, meals out, theatre etc, I spend mine on races hence why I do not feel guilty at forking out.
