try going to www.beachbody.com and try the power 90 or p90X. Power 90 is great for starting off if you haven't been too active and believe me it is not as easy as it sounds. P90X is a very effective program as well.

Swimming burns a lot of calories even though we do not feel like we are burning so many. When you are swimming just stop for a moment and listen to your heart. I'll bet you it will be pounding like crazy

I don't have specific experience with insanity but I have tried power 90 and p90x which are from beach body fitness where insanity is from. Their programs are really well made if you follow them properly.
