Hi! I'm very new to plant based eating after a serious boutique of food poisoning and am also diabetic! I'm certainly no expert since I'm new to no meat but it looks good to me. My own food diary is reasonably low calorie, MFP often says I'm undereating, but I tried on 1200 calories and lost nothing, I don't know if its…

Hi! I'm 5 foot 0, 46-42-48, 156 lbs, wear a NZ size 20 which I believe is a US size 16. I'm 55 and diabetic. I have a very clear memory of being 138 lbs and NZ size 14/US size 10 so I guess diabetes, childbirth 27 years ago and age has taken a toll on my shape!

You'll be ok but I understand how overwhelming that diagnosis feels. Happy to be MFP friends and share food diaries if that helps.

Thanks so much everyone, all comments very helpful. I haven't logged with myfitnesspal for a very long time, just started this week while I was doing without meat as I have to get enough protein due to my bariatric surgery. I couldn't figure out how to answer each person separately, im so sorry, but Weather Jane, you're…

Geez with sisters in law like her who needs enemies? I am wondering if she was bullsh*tting you about being able to eat as much potato salad as she likes, I googled the diet in case someone posted recipes or the like and no one mentions eating potatoes. The 45 day salad diet has a page on Facebook, maybe you can msg…

Thanks for responding! Yeah its not something that suits my natural likes food wise, but I have or had badly managed diabetes which has caused many health complications, I only have to look sideways at a piece of bread and my blood sugars go through the roof. This seems to be the only diet I can lose any weight on, I have…

Stole this one from my friend Rachel - "I'm not fat - God gave me airbags because I'm precious"

I was going to ask the same thing - whether you are diabetic. I am and my body is incredibly sensitive to carbs, I only have to walk past a loaf of bread and I gain a kilo. Everyone is different and if you are not diabetic good carbs wont be a problem for you in the same way.

Mines open! :-)

Hi there! Sorry your diary is not open so can't view it.

If men had the babies, birthing would be done under general anaesthetic and the law would be one child per family :-)

Thats awesome, great work. I didnt think diabetes could be cured (type 1 AND type 2) if you had a load of carbs would your blood sugars go high again?

Hi Bobbie. Actually I was planning on making a big pot tomorrow morning, been off track, and a big steaming bowl of hot soup is just what I need to fill me up and warm me up, FREEZING here in New Zealand. I just put several cartons of real chicken stock in a pot, add lots of garlic, thyme, a ton of veggies (leek, carrots,…
