  • Last year I ate SO MUCH and so fast for iftar it was crazy! This year I've been exercising just before iftar, eating a light meal for iftar and I feel so much better than last year! I'm ashamed to say this but last year I only managed one taraweeh prayer because I felt so sick and heavy. This year I've been to all taraweeh…
  • Because they are full of salt and I'm sure they are the reason I still don't have a flat stomach  I didn't think about popcorn...thanks GormanGhaste!!!
  • I'm a teacher too! I'm a British teacher teaching abroad at the moment. It can be difficult to stay healthy at work...break time snacks and tea, lunch out and children's birthday parties! Add me if you need any motivation, and I would love the support :flowerforyou:
  • Try exercising in 50 degree heat in the UAE!!! I wish it would burn more calories but it doesn't. Because it's hotter you will get dehydrated more quickly so just up your water intake and you should be fine!
  • Hi, this sounds interesting!! I am fasting at the moment and I don't really feel hungry, just thirsty. You should have a filling breakfast before you begin the fast and drink plenty of water. During the day keep yourself occupied with things that will take your mind off food and remember that you will be eating shortly! I…

  • I was thinking the same thing too! I'm doing this...breakfast is suhoor and then dinner is iftar. I'm also eating a light suhoor and drinking plenty of water before the fast begins. I really love this time of year!!!
  • Great post! Ramadan Kareem :flowerforyou:
  • Inshallah I am going to workout before Iftar. I did this last year and it worked well because I was only thirsty for a little bit! I don't think it's a good idea to workout after Iftar as I know I would feel bloated and sick.

  • For lunch I usually have a homemade sandwich/wrap or a pasta salad with tuna. I will usually have some fruit at lunch too. I also have a little treat if I need it, like some dark chocolate. I've started snacking on dried apricots and almonds before dinner. When I'm at work I force myself to take a homemade lunch with me as…

  • I'm Muslim and last Ramadan I exercised for at least 1 hour a day and still managed to put on weight!!! I was eating a lot of sweet treats at night. This year I will still exercise but cutting back on the sweet things and trying to keep healthy...let's see what happens! I love Ramadan!

  • I've heard that exercising in the morning is the best but I don't think exercising on an empty stomach is a good idea. Personally I couldn't exercise on an empty stomach! I exercise in the afternoon...I like to think that I'm burning off my breakfast and lunch
  • I eat what I want and I'm managing to lose weight. I exercise a lot too though! As long as you stay within your calorie limits then it's fine. HOWEVER I wouldn't go crazy and eat really unhealthy food all the time as it's bound to have some bad effects on your insides! I do treat myself a lot though :ohwell:
  • Yes I'm the same! Food is all I think about- planning meals, counting calories...I think I may be annoying my family with it all :frown:
