Currently my longest has been 1 min 30 sec x 2 sets but I'm working on it! I do basic planks, side planks and unstable planks all the time with my trainer. It's part of mycore routine. I also try to do them at home but that doesn't always happen. Unstable planks are the most difficult for me, regardless of which unstable…

YUM! So totally making these for a birthday party this weekend! thanks for sharing! :flowerforyou:

As a person who cooks Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, I will be using some healthier alternatives in my recipes. This is a bit challenging as I'm pretty sure a few of my family members are bloodhounds and can sniff out anything healthy within a two mile radius! On Thanksgiving day, I have signed up for a 5K run that…

That is SO awesome! Congrats on quitting smoking and your first race!! A 10K as a first race, talk about a cherry on top! You are an inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing your awesome story... loved the chunky butt shuffle comment... that's how I feel every time I run (slow jog).

Can't wait to try this out! Thank you for sharing!

^^This! The addition of the greek yogurt (protein) would be awesome!

I have both the Fitbit Flex and the Bodymedia "ugly" armband. I haven't used the armband in quite a while. When I did use it, I loved all the stats and info it gave me. I stopped using it after the price kept going up for the monthly tracking website/account. I just thought it was a bit crazy that I paid X amount for the…

^^^I'd bet this is a shameless plug for Shakeology. Now while I don't know all the ingredients in Shakeology, I will say that you can definitely use protein powder in place of their powder. I don't even know what "superfoods" are so while they may be awesome it won't hinder your weight loss if you don't use them ;) Either…

What about some frozen veggies/fruits? I use frozen fruit all the time for my protein shakes. Frozen veggies are a great side dish for meals. It might help to alleviate some of the worry over maintaining fresh produce for two weeks.

Mine do it all the time! My trainer even comments on the sounds my knees and left shoulder make when I lift or do just about anything involving my legs. She has screws in her left knee so some days we compare sounds HAHA! It is a pretty eerie sound but as long as there is no pain then it should be okay (at least…

You might want to check this out... new Fitbit Force coming out in 3-4 weeks. Very similar to Flex but has display on band and a few additional features. http://www.fitbit.com/force As far as the Flex, I have one and like it. Although now that I'm seeing the info about the Force, I'm thinking I may sell my Flex and get it!…

^this^ My afternoon snack lately has been a serving of chocolate cheerios, dry. It gives me the sweet plus the chocolate for not a lot of calories. Plus it's great for the whole keep my hands busy thing as it takes a bit to eat them.

Nothing really to add, just loving all the TDEE advice. Definitely going to try calculating using my own results and see just how far off those calculators are for me. ~ Thanks!

I don't make them but I know that the Peace Love and Low Carb blog talks about using this gadget to make noodles. http://www.amazon.com/GEFU-13460-Spirelli-Spiral-Cutter/ Once you have cut them, either with julienne peeler or spiral cutter, then you can saute or place in microwave for a few minutes. To julienne I assume…

I tend to stock a bit of everything in my office so that I have options. Cans of soup, frozen meals, cans of tuna, yogurt, and salad mix top my list. This allows me to have a few days of "backup" meal options for those days when I failed to bring leftovers or other lunch options. Lunch options typically are leftovers or…

Feel free to add me! It's not always the best but it's out there for friends to see!

I do boot camp 1-2 times a week and log it under cardio as circuit training or calisthenics, (push-ups, sit-ups) vigorous effort, depending on what was done that day. I also undercut my time on it since I already know MFP tends to be quite a bit over on the calories (I cut 10 minutes from my hour class). That may not be…

HA HA I LOVE your response!! I'm pretty sure I did that too... oh wait, I KNOW I did!

My "story" is very similar to the above poster. The first hundred times around, it was all about losing fast using just about any means necessary (large calorie deficits, large amounts of exercise, low fat, low carb, low whatever the fad was at the time, etc.). Then I started going to bootcamps in 2012 given by my now…

Oh I've seen that post a time or two and yowsa talk about a pissing match!

This!! ^^ There is definitely a fine line and it's sometimes difficult to navigate. While PB&J is not a "bad" food, as OP stated, a healthier version exists and it is something she is wanting to get once the current versions have been used. My son is almost 13 and right now he is worried about muscles and fat and…

So true! That's why I've never asked a question on here... I'd rather ask within my friends list than try to weed through the negativity and judgmental comments I'm sure I would get if I dared to ask anything!

Is your weight loss competition based on pounds lost or percentage of weight lost? It sounds as those the previous winner was on a form of the HCG weight loss program whereby the actual weight loss came with the 500 calories daily and not the drops or supplements. You could state that participation in drastic calorie…

I wish you all the best in your newfound journey! New habits take time and aren't always easy BUT they are worth it in the end. Look at is as a lifestyle change and not a diet... it's my new outlook lately and it's helped!
