  • I find it also helps to drink things like coconut water or gatorade (I prefer coconut water) and eat bananas. They help replace the potassium you lose when sweating because of the increased exertion.
  • I would just go back to my normal eating/exercise routine. nothing is going to reverse those 1000 calories
  • I have seen both on cooking shows. I also think the blood pudding common in the UK is fairly gross and a large number of dishes that are made from whale blubber from Alaska. Since I am vegetarian, my foods mild. Tofu is not that daring compared to embryos and blood.
  • What do you consider gourmet? Seafood is easy to make healthy and light. You could do shrimp or a nice cut of fish baked with lemon zest and make cous cous with scallions and lemon zest. Add a green salad and you have a light, healthy meal.
  • There are tons of places to shop in both Vegas and NYC. Since the US dollar is not as strong you should have a great time shopping. Vegas has several outlet stores, the hotels can probably direct you to the best ones. There are also major chains like Macy's, that are fairly mid range in terms of price and clothing quality.…
  • Sounds like a lot of floundering about looking for miracle cures. Why not simplify? Find a simple eating plan that includes at least 3 meas a day and a realistic exercise routine. Your body may be reacting to all this fad diet/cleanses/etc... by holding onto every calorie it can. Also be patient. Nothing happens over…
  • I do. I just pull them aside and let them know as discreetly as possible.
  • Nope, I would have said the same thing. Stating why you don't eat there is no a judgement of others. If she read it that way then it's her problem, not yours.
  • THIS. I rarely if ever eat iceburg
  • Sounds like plenty of activity just remember to make your eating habits just as good and you should be fine.
  • yes it is hard to find coupons fro non-processed foods. They are out there. I would personally never pay for a coupon site. There are too many free ones out there. My tips for couponing. 1. Buy the Sunday paper at least once a month. 2. Sign up on the website of brands you like and trust. Driscoll's (the berry people)…
  • Have a food prep day. On Sunday I prep for the week. I boil half a dozen eggs, make a pot of brown rice, a pot of beans (I'm vegetarian, if I was a carnivore I would probably cook a couple of chicken breast or other protein). I also chop up any veg or fruit I want to snack on like watermelon, cucumbers, etc... This means…
  • water aerobics. Couldn;t be any easier. Also walk away the pounds videos are great.
  • I order seltzer and lime if I am not drinking. It looks like a drink and I can nurse it all night.
  • Uterine cancer survivor. Treatment put me in menopause. It takes a while to adjust to a new body . Just keep trying and try not to get discouraged.
  • I was going to suggest seitan and grilled veggies, but this is an actual recipe and sounds sooooo good!
  • Go to the doctor you may be in the beginning stages of an infection.
  • Feeling more and more healthier each day. I remember how sick I was over the winter and I never want to be that ill again if I can help it. This change in eating and exercising is making me stronger and healthier.
  • I do. I also find it helps to watch something like the news or soap operas in that language. You generally have an idea what is going on by what's on screen so the words are reenforced in your mind.
  • Consult your doctor. Different allergies have different reactions. Many people have difficulty processing gluten (wheat products) and constipation is a result.
  • Can you open up your diary? It's more helpful to see what you eat. I find I need to eat most of my calories earlier in the day and watch my carbs/fat in order to see a difference. Even when I am under my calories goals I need to keep carbs slightly lower or the scale does not budge. I also have to get in my green veg or…
  • I went into immediate menopause after a radical hysterectomy. All I can say is that you have to really watch what you eat and work out regularly in order to lose. I've noticed for me that I have to eat loads of fresh fruit and veg along with working out at least 4 times a week.
  • I don't know if I count as normal. I'm vegetarian and I eat as cleanly as possible but I have to admit I have a weakness for fries. Nonetheless my diary is open and I've logged for close to 100 days straight so you can see good eating days and bad eating days.

  • I eat before working out, but keep it list. A protein bar, a protein shake or a handful of nuts. I always try to have protein both before and after a workout. However if the food is too heavy I can't keep it down, but I also get sick if I'm working out on an empty stomach. I read something about you wanting to provide your…
  • Water aerobics has been my primary workout since I joined MFP. Down 30lbs and counting.
  • It really doesn't help because the veg is packed in the stuff for shelf stability. The sodium is in the food not just on the surface where rinsing would help. I'd rather buy frozen than canned. A better tip is whenever you see a big batch on sale at the market, buy and bring it home and sort into freezer bags. This is…
  • I've heard of folks chewing food and spitting it out. Kinda dumb to me. Remember slow and steady.
  • I'm uninsured as well and as difficult as it is sometime you just have to suck it up and pay the $$$ for the doctors. be upfront with the doctors and they will often only charge you the medicare fee, or they will give you samples of any med they rec. I had one doc call the pharmacy to get the genrics of the meds I needed,…
  • ITA with portion control. Tonight I changed up and orders 2 appetizers. I had my salad with everyone else and then the 2nd app when everyone had their entree. Perfect size and I was full and satisfied.
