  • I don't buy them already so I don't care.
  • Heya! I do yoga and hike too :) Running, not so much. lmao. I'm 41 and a mother and a teacher. I'm ready to start. Again. Add me!
  • At 19, it's pretty easy to lose weight. You can also eat more. After babies and age, it gets more difficult. You do what you do, and we'll do what we do.
  • If the dietary restrictions are for health, I sincerely implore you to go gluten free. You will thank me. I have been gluten free for almost 3 years now and it changed my life. I cured all my ailments. I am also a pescatarian...but only eat fish about 3 times a week. The rest is vegetarian dishes either taken from Asian…
  • Thank you for your replies :) I do believe men lose weight (on average) faster than women...and easier. No? Is that a myth? I dunno...my husband can drop 10 pounds by saying he's going to. haha! I have done well today. Haven't gotten a scale yet...I'm going tonight when the kids go down to sleep. But...gotta start…
  • Just wow. It's ok, guys. The advice has been helpful. Fitbits are expensive! lol That may have to be a gift for myself...."Hey, hunny..." (expensive is all relative, I realize, but my kiddo needs about 400 bucks worth of dental work this next month)... I'm going to shop for a scale in a bit...I won't eat until I get one…
  • LOL It's like the Wii fit...my kid learned if she shakes the remote, the Mii runs. hahaha...cheating! (that was for she who said the friend didn't like it calculating an arm movement for a step.) I'm a researcher so I'll research into it. Payday is Monday so ....yea. Thanks for the input!
  • That sounds a lot easier than worrying about exercise, etc. Thanks for the link. :) I also want to get a fitbit...any advice on those? I figure with my age getting higher and my body just doing what it does on the inside regarding my endometriosis, I should at least get more technical with my efforts.
  • I must have been accurate the 2 years before my surgery. I lost weight quickly. Doing the same now and losing nada. That is my frustration. I'll see what happens with a month or 3 of diligently weighing. You eat 2000 a day whether or not you lift?
  • My TDEE is 1927 (without exercise) My BMR is 1606 So I have to eat 1927 a day? O.o I was eating 1600 and gaining...went to 1400 and didn't lose...
  • Thanks for the lifting links. I got into lifting about 6 months ago but want to do more with that.
  • I am going to order a new digital scale. :) I will make this happen! lol.
  • I'm a teacher :) I'll be on my feet most of the day starting in a week. Thank you for the rest of your input. Makes sense.
  • Sounds like something i'd be like too. I once lived with an obsession about food intake and it almost ruined my life. I think that holds me back from getting "nazi" about it now. I will be more diligent about it...and thank you to cmeiron for the response about eating calories back. I have read about that until my eyes…
  • OK :) What do you want me to do? Stop reading and commenting then.
  • So then, the big, stupid question is: Once I start back at the gym religiously like I do during the school year and we're not on vacations, etc...do I eat those calories back? (don't stone me!) Because honestly, I read so much about yes and no. When I don't eat them back, MFP tells me i'm not eating enough...but when I do…
  • Oh yes. But for me, 8 isn't normal. It was always about 3-4 pounds. Now, I actually keep a bit of each 8 pounds every month :( So then I stopped really eating during my TOM but that didn't matter. So then I ate more, and gained. lol! I am googling digital scales...and will become a measuring cop. I just hope I don't have…
  • I don't have a digital one...would be a good idea.
  • Yes. I get so frustrated with my endometriosis specialist telling me if's "fine" when I easily gain about 8 pounds during my TOM. Over 2 days I go up about 6-8 pounds...and I think, for a while, I was so happy not to have 24/7 chronic pain in that area that I overlooked the fact that my body stopped losing weight. Now it's…
  • I believe in the science of it all. That's what helped me a couple years ago. I am at 1230 calories a day now. We'll see how that goes. I had been at 1400 for about 5 months and nothing was happening.
  • Thank you all :)
  • LOL it's not like packing brown sugar. But yea, I see what you're saying. I don't pack. I just scoop.
  • And that's my frustration. Something doesn't add up. I'm hoping my next doctor's visit gives me something but it was all "fine" the last time. My parents both had thyroid issues but mine is normal. I know that when I cut gluten out of my diet, I didn't lose weight but lost a TON of bloat. I'm thinking the same would happen…
  • So you just wanted to reply to be rude? I'm just frustrated.
  • They are similar to this...and I don't fill them over the line. lol.
  • I am not pouting lol! But it's as if none of you have experienced any frustration with weight loss and you have all the answers. My doctor a year ago said to eat 1600 calories a day so I did....to lose weight, she said. I gained a ton! I have read the advice here and am taking it all into consideration. But I already do…
  • Thank you :) I did just make an appointment for blood work. I also lowered my calorie intake for now. Ever since the removal of my tumor about 2 years ago, losing weight has been such a chore! I would think getting rid of a 7 pound tumor would help things, but perhaps also losing an ovary has thrown things off even more.…
  • Oh good grief. So many people without helpful advice. I did take the advice into consideration. I also made a doctor's appointment for more blood work and go from there. I don't cheat on weekends. lol. My husband can attest to that as I won't eat out often and I cook every day from ingredients, not processed foods. I am…
  • I lost about 50 pounds doing what I'm doing about 3 years ago. I gained back 30 over the time and health issues. Why would it work then and not now? It is not that I have never done this...it's just not working now.
