  • I try to think of it this way - keep in mind: I don't know if this is the "correct" way to look at it, but it helps me understand it better in my own mind. This (IMO) is the simplest explanation I can think of. BTW, I have a FitBit Flex linked to MFP. If my FitBit calorie adjustment is shown as a positive number, I view…
  • Thank you sooooo much for the kind words! My hope is that I CAN motivate people and inspire them to never give up, and to never let anything force them to give up their dreams of being healthy and fit. Especially when I hear people talking about plateaus...I have had my fair share, trust me - but I have also realized that…
  • Well, long story short, I had a horrible car accident in 2001 which resulted in a broken back and neck. Five spinal surgeries later, and after some relief, it was discovered that I had a heart condition, which THEN resulted in cardiac medication. Both of those things coupled together added MEGA amounts of weight to me, and…
  • I've lost 97 lbs since February 20th - YOU CAN DO THIS!! Gonna send a request your way, so I can cheer you along in your journey! We've all got your back!
  • I eat heavier in the a.m. than I do in the evening - I'll eat at least 400 calories for breakfast, typically 300 - 350 for lunch, 250 for my pre-dinner meal, and around the same for my dinner, with more on workout days but following the same pattern. Keep in mind I haven't even factored in snacks. For me, when doing this,…

And you're a beautiful person now. You will be just as beautiful when you lose the weight. You only get one chance at life - grasp it, run like the…

  • You can do it!! I started MFP in February of this year and have lost 90 lbs so far. I got really sick tho, and had to do it. Don't let yourself go so long that the same thing happens to you too. :flowerforyou:
  • OMG - thank you everyone for the kind words of encouragement. I'm overjoyed that this post received such a big response. I just hope that I can inspire others.
  • I'm doing mostly walking, but I've started incorporating light jogging into it. I'm also doing some light strength training. I'm trying to take baby steps, because I was so out of shape for so long. I've also had back surgery (cervical and lumbar) five times. Once you start losing, your back will feel TREMENDOUSLY better!
  • Hey there! Just to let you know, I have this app installed on my smartphone, and my i-pod, and have had it for about three weeks. I've never had a problem up to this point. The app works quite well, and it's so convenient to be able to input my exercise progress right there at the gym. For me, it's been such a plus. Hope…
