Hello there! Welcome to MFP, it's a great place for support and motivation.:flowerforyou:

I'm tall, I can carry the extra weight. Yeah right. Okay so I'm not round, but I'm BIG. A And not big-boned either, I actually have a small frame underneath - my feet and hands are small. There's a tall slim girl hiding under a layer of flab, and it's time I let her out to play.

A friend at work sent me this in an email:bigsmile: 1. If no one sees you eat it, it has no calories. 2. If you drink a diet soda with candy, they cancel each other out. 3. When eating with someone else, calories don't count if you both eat the same amount. 4. Foods used for medicinal purposes have no calories. This…

Bon jour!! Sorry that's all the French I know:embarassed: But hello anyway. My daughter is on a gap year in France, in Toulouse, and her french is brilliant.
-
I would definitely seek medical advice on this.

Another vote for new goal, new scale. And a massive WELL DONE for your weight loss so far!!!:flowerforyou:
-
Stay positive, keep on doing what you're doing, it's working!

What's munster cheese? Cheese is my downfall as well, I daren't have any in the house. My favourite all-time snack is cheese on toast, and I just can't eat that amount of calories now. At least you logged it and you've posted on here - now get back on track and feed the rest of the cheese to the birds.

I used to go to Weightwatchers but the cost and the time commitment stopped me from continuing. But I have to admit I did find the support and friendship very useful, and also being weighed every week in front of others (although they don't broadcast your weight to all and sundry) was very motivating.

My weight loss saboteurs are my co-workers. Not a day goes by without someone producing cakes, muffins, chocolate cookies - usually home-made, and the person who has made them gets all offended when I refuse to partake. What I usually do now is take one, and take it back to my desk, saying I'll eat it later - then I…

I''ll add you both, the more friends you have, the better it is.:flowerforyou:

Hi there, I'm in the North west, distinctly overcast up here though. Welcome to MFP and feel free to add me.
-
Hello!:flowerforyou: I've added everyone on this thread and I'll try and be as supportive as I can be.
-
That's pretty much what I did as well:bigsmile: Thank God I did - at last I feel in control again.

I use Garnier Nutritionist Caffeine Eye Roll-on, I'm in my 40's and I do find it makes a difference. A friend of mine, also 40-something, swears by Avon Anew Clinical Eye Lift. I'm not sure if either product is available where you are though.

Articles like this make me cross - some people (my mother for example) believe the printed word to be true, regardless of what it actually says. This is a crackpot theory and he has tailored the facts to fit this.

The cycled eating plan features four distinct phases that are intended to burn fat, reteach you how to eat and most importantly, reset your metabolism so that it works efficiently and smartly. But because of its quick weight loss results, you may not see long-lasting weight loss success with The 17 Day Diet unless you…

There are reviews of the 17 day diet here: http://www.dietsinreview.com/diets/the-17-day-diet/

Is this the diet devised by Dr. Mike Moreno? You have four cycles to work through. Cycle 1: Accelerate. Encourages rapid weight loss, cleansing and fat burning. Discourages fat storage. Cycle 2: Activate. Resets the metabolism. Cycle 3: Achieve. Develop good eating habits, re-teach yourself how to eat carbs. Cycle 4:…

Wow, congratulations on your amazing weight loss so far! What an inspiration.

Is there any way you can pack your own lunch, eat it in the office, then join your co-workers for a diet soda or glass of mineral water?
-
I'm 42 and looking to be foxy, flirty and fun in my 40's, instead of flabby, fat and unfit. Please feel free to add me as a friend and I will do my utmost to be supportive.

Hmm, lots of food for thought here- forgive the pun!! I'm guessing opening my diary up to friends is the way forward. I think I'm nervous of getting criticism if I have a bad day or don't eat as well as I should.:embarassed: But I like the idea of getting inspiration for meals and snacks from others - and I guess…

Hello Lissette, I have added you.:flowerforyou:

It's a really useful website but unfortunately I'm in the UK. I shall have to do an internet search and see if there's an equivalent version with UK restaurants. I'm guessing the McDonalds/Burgerking/Pizza Hut values will be the same though.

Wow, you're doing the marathon? That's amazing. I am planning on doing Race For Life in July, it's only 5k but it's a start. I'm from Derbyshire.
-
I'm 42 and I need to lose 50lbs as well - more if I can. My goal date is by the beginning of August when I am hoping to have a holiday in the sun. Come on, let's do it!:flowerforyou:
-
It's too early for me to say - I only joined a few days ago - but the success stories keep me going. One day it's going to be me posting in that thread.
-
Hi Lorna, I'm new as well and from Derbyshire. So far, so good - I find the message boards really useful for getting inspiration, especially the success stories.

10kg is an amazing loss and so what if no-one has commented that you're getting smaller. There may be an element of jealousy involved, you never know. Keep it up and soon those compliments will be coming thick and fast - along with faux concern where people advise you not to lose any more weight. I'm looking forward to…
