  • While your new and getting used to portions weigh and meausure most things - you will get a shock how big a portion really is! Measurments should be stated on the back of the pack including how much milk to add.
  • I'm also a student and do 1-2 hrs exercise per day too and have my activity level set at sedentary (1200 cals) but log my exercise (anywhere between 500-1000 cals per day). You will see when you log exercise you get extra calories to eat - try and eat some of them as you don't have a lot of weight to lose and will burn…
  • Set your activity level to reflect what your day looks like BEFORE exercise as you'll log those cals seperate. Moderatley active would probably be for like a nurse or someone else who is on their feet all day. If you do a desk job, most people on here log that as sedentary.
  • Iwonder if it would make a difference on what the pig was fed? I have heard that the cells retain the gluton if fed grains which then get passed onto you but you may want to verify that?
  • I reckon its a side effect of our lifestyles - sugar and cortisol (stress). I have lost 20lbs and can still pinch a good inch! It's a pain in the bum but I think i've resolved myself to having a "meaty" tummy instead of a 6-pack :-(
  • bump thanks! I was only thinking I really wanted pancakes yesterday!
  • I agree - wake up, pee, weigh in then skull water =) I weigh most mornings but don't get disheartened if it's different each morning. Friday morning is my big weigh in and measurement day.
  • A stitch happens when we get air under the diaphram and the bouncing causes a pain. This can be caused through having too much in the stomach or breathing wrong - you will normally get it on one side? One way to combat this is to have no more than a small snack at least 1 hr before heading out and only SIPPING water when…
  • I feel it the next day - my workout can feel like a marathon and I feel groggy all day! Makes me wonder how I used to live like that on a daily basis!
  • Ladies I hear you loud and clear! I am also a perfect 9!! I have lost 10KG so far and I see no difference other than a bone appearing here or there and even dropping 2 clothes sizes I still struggle to see a difference! I think our brains are hard wired to not appreciate what we have...and i am SURE the mirror puts lb's…
  • I know how painfull/disgustng that can be as I lost both my big toenails playing netball not too long ago. My problem was my nails were too long and the constant stomping of my foot on the ground was slamming my toe into the front of my shoe. It went black because of the blood blister underneath and eventually fell off…
  • I LOVE LOVE spinning but as someone else mentioned that is normally takn in a group environment - I think you may be thinking of the exercise bike? Just get on the bike and start pushing to see what speeds you can go to or what resistance you can work upto. If you have an pod or music you can turn it into an interval…
  • I am so pleased you posted as I do 4-5 exercise days per week and I have been fine with that and getting stronger then this last week I have TOM and my motivation is gone because I am just exhausted thinking about leaving my sofa! Yesterday I felt better so went to do spin class and within 15 mins I actually thought I was…
  • I almost passedd out during spin class tonight - that was right before I wanted to spew and all for a poxy 500 cals in 50 mins!! I feel your pain, this was so much easier when I was 10kg heavier and unfit! But look how far we have come - there is no way I would want to do it over again lol!
  • I feel as though I could have wrote this thread myself! I have also ben on since Jan, lost 20 and probably have another 1-2kg to go and my belly is my most hated part! I've lost 5 inches but it won't tone up either :-( I have done everything and have resigned myself that my belly is my stubborn part! I will continue with…
  • The way I think of it is exercise is an intentional way of raising my heart rate or focussing on specific activities (sports, weights, etc). If you are on your feet for 6 hrs a day and up and down ladders your daily calorie allowance would reflect that. I am a full time student and move from bed to college, to the sofa on…
  • I am such a girl when it comes to push up - my upper body strength is pretty pathetic so I started on my knees 4 months ago and have JUST started doing full range on my toes!! I think I can do 4-5 before I fall on my knees again haha! Even if you just do one, make sure you get all the way down and back up - halfies are no…
  • Ditto! I am so anal when it comes to food, the thought alone of eating something that has been opened/cooked and left more than a day makes me ill!! Chicken is not a food to be messed with either as it is a prime candidate for salmonella - my opinion, bin it! But if your not so fussy do the sniff test and make sure it is…
  • Great idea! I only have about 100mls 1-2 times a day so that teeny amount would do the job nicely! I just got horrified at how much sugar is in those processed yogurts and im hoping the cultures help my belly as the fibre isn't doing it's job as promised :blushing: Also the fruit makes a huge difference I think - i put it…
  • Ooh vanilla wafers - i've never heard of them but that could work maybe? Thanks! And I considered the artificial sweetner thing too but then thought I may as well stay with yoplait lol!
  • Eating more you will have more "food in transit" too lol
  • Man I wish I lived in the states - you have some yummy sounding cereals!! I am a lover of oats too but I get a different reaction - after a morning bowl I am STARVING within a couple of hrs! I don't know if this is a good thing or not??
  • Totay agree with this post - well said! I don't eat McD's nearly as much as before but if I want one I get one, you still have to live. I get chicken burger rather than beefburger though but thats personal and nothing to do with losing weight ha! Well done so far!
  • To the poster who said she could not post because she isn't overweight - who do you think you are?? What just because she doesn't have 100lb to lose she can't be unhappy with her weight?? This site is not just for obtaining a healthy body - which she has anyway, it is for becoming healthy generally.. I am not overweight…
  • Look hun I think a lot of people on this site (myself included) are just shocked when they first look at your pics - we are not used to that lol. Our first thought is that of concern but reading your posts I can see your motivation. I am inbetween your weight range at 60kg and would love to go lower as I am only 5'5 but…
  • I love my veggies and have great fun just messing around with them! I buy fresh from the markets but because im on my own while hubby is oversas I have started buying frozen. They are just as yummy and hold nutrition just as well as fresh and last longer = cost efficiant! Meat I buy from a butcher and fish from a fish…
  • YES and hopefully you can get something similar whre you are!! I use a herb blend by A.Vogal called Herbamare original. It is an organic blend of herbs and vegetables with sea salt and added iodine and tastes lovely but I'm in Australia :-( Have a look in healthfood shops or the health foods aisle in your supermarket.
  • I'm guessing it may be frustration on your wifes part more than anything, maybe some fear too especially if she is also trying to lose weight but it's not happening as quick. Try involving her in exercise and healthy cooking whenever possible and as hard as it seems at the moment make sure you compliment her often for…
  • You seem really cut up about it? don't feel guilty, food should bring us pleasure not stress. Ok so you had a bad night and not done your exercises today, but that won't put you back at all and you can make up up for it by working out extra hard next time. Enjoy your night off and make a promise to yourself to be good for…
  • How long have you been running for and do you do any other exercise such as cycling or weights? The body becomes incredibly good at doing the same exercise with minimum effort and it only takes about 4 weeks to get used to it! Interval training can be a great way to shock your body and you can work it in with your running…
