Great job getting started.

Awesome - CoolDad. That's great progress. I agree with you with feeling better after exercising. I started a boot camp and am into week three. My energy level is through the roof. I am also feeling a lot more upbeat and motivated. Keep up the good work.

I really have no excuses.... Just didn't care as much as I should have. I finally realize that I need to do it for more than how I look but to remain healthy and then look great in the meantime.

Here's what a gentleman at my gym told me today "Your desire to be better has to outweigh your desire to stay the same". As simple as that sounds it made a huge impact on me today. Now here's his story - he is 6'9" 437 pounds - lost 107 over the past year. He said that a year ago he "rolled" into the gym (wheelchair) now…

I've decided to do every two weeks.

Try not to focus on the scale as much. Celebrate your small victories like saying no to those cookies or by doing some type of exercise for 10 or 15 minutes. I think when we are too hard on ourselves it's when we set up for failure. I've decided to weigh every two weeks and measure one a month. I've also picked a pair of…

I am definitely a summer girl. I'm not motivated on those gloomy days. As long as I have sunlight I'm good to go. I've been getting up early to workout and bright mornings help me feel like I can do anything. The weather in Geogia gets pretty hot but mornings are usually nice.

What about having a few healthy snacks around. Maybe baby carrots, almonds or microwave popcorn? I usually shut my kitchen down right after dinner. I also brush my teeth because I don't want to eat after.

Praevalere - that is a HUGE loss. Fun workouts too!!

Tenthings that is awesome and what a workout!!!

This might sound crazy but are you eating enough? Are you looking at all of your numbers when you log your food (fat/carbs/etc)? I would suggest waiting maybe say two weeks before weighing then try again. It might reflect later. Otherwise then you might need to ask your doctor to do some tests for other reasons.

I have both a Fitbit Zip and a One. They are great for walking &/or running. However I still use my HRM because I am also strength training. I like them both because they can be clipped in your pants or bra or pocket. I check it frequently to see how many more steps I need to make. The Fitbit Zip is the least costly. I…

wesleysmom - great job catching that 5lbs. You are right as soon as I stop logging I gain weight... Overconfidence on my part.

Everyone, thanks for sharing the clean eating links. I also have been looking up eating clean and recipe ideas. There are really a lot of ways to eat clean and still stay full and not just boring food either. Anyway, it gets our creative side going :-) My challenge is always the weekend so I'm trying to preplan as much as…

Awesome idea. Let's see who would be willing to post before pics?

Let's get to it. You can do it!!!

I would say if you're staying at a hotel see if they have a gym or try to get some extra exercise in either before or after. That might help balance your calorie intake. They will probably have every muffin, brownie, etc available. Look for veggie or fruit trays first. Good luck.

Ziki, I would say yes. I think preplanning will let you know how much more/less you can have.
