Great! Hope this works well for you. Best of luck.

I did a google search--low fiber foods. There were lists on there. Take a look.

I gave you a hug because this really wraps up how I think about all the excited people that post. You really hate to burst the bubble because we want them to succeed, but they'll find the learning curve just like we all did. It'a a long slough to lose 100 lbs, say, and things change as you move along. It's hard to explain…

Not necessarily. Funny story--long ago I decided to go on a New Years vacation to Mexico by myself to just lay on the beach and read, after a disastrous vacation with a girlfriend the year before. I packed a lot of books and upon arrival made reservations for day trips to see Mexican ruins and other things. The first day…

You should give a little more information. What do you enjoy doing?---walking, museums, going to the beach, hiking in the mountains,........etc. There are people that want a deserted spot and others want a big city. Any special interests or hobbies? The world is a big place with many wonderful things. You need to narrow it…

If someone is bothering you, you can block them and they can't get through. Otherwise just refuse all requests, or write on your profile page that you have no interest in FR.

Have you exercised before or are you starting from scratch? If you are new to exercise, it helps to ease in. Also your age can be a factor. A younger body will bounce back faster. Then, there is the question of what exercise you're choosing. Movement IS exercise. It's important to find something you like doing so you will…

Happy for you both. Keeping it off is the real work. Just like MFP you've lost following the system. So, I'd wait about 5 years and see how things are going. Then you can evaluate between the two.

I, too, see this often on the boards. Some people need therapy with their weight loss. It can really help you, but you need to keep looking until you find a therapist you trust. Don't give up. Since your family is urging you to take this step--please do. Winding up with an ED is not where you want to be. Good luck.

Many people don't realize that lifting doesn't burn a lot of calories. For me, an hour at the gym doing various things is 250 cal burnt. Lifting is very good for you, but your weight loss will take time. Patience and keep going.

For cooked lentils I get 100 cal per 100g For dry lentils it varies a lot depending on the type of lentil. I get 286 cal----366 cal.

Exactly---we've been trying to tell people that. If you build good habits, you just go on autopilot. With willpower you need to be constantly alert and eventually you get distracted. That's when it all falls apart. I think you use willpower to start, but use it to build those habits that will see you through the future.

There were 10 or more so I just reported it.

If you are eating calorie dense foods, yes, you will gain, if you're over your calorie goal. I'd suggest you try eyeballing and logging your food as best you can. This will tell you which foods are high calorie. Try to use more fruits and vegetables and pick lean meats. Be wary of sauces because they are calorie dense.

I'm 68 with OA and have started Tai Chi. It has many hand movements and exercises that are helpful. You might want to take a look and see if it could make a difference in your case. Good luck. PS: I do Yoga too, but Tai Chi has more hand movement.

This is what you have to realize---food is just...food. It is not evil, it is not good or bad. Just log consistently and try to stay within your goals everyday. Success will come.

Yep--you can do it. Just don't give up. Keep going.

I found the lady that ran barefoot for over 8 years-- @RunsWithBees. You can see her running pics and others on the "Mom bod thread" pages 44 & 45. This was in 2021. She's no longer active on MFP, but you can maybe get some ideas.

There was a poster years ago who ran barefoot in the hills in California for long distances. She was tall---5'11'' I believe, and was in great physical shape. I used to run barefoot everywhere when I was a little kid--in the summer in Minnesota. I loved to run. Now, I live in a big, dirty, European city and I would never…

Sorry--I should have said SELL higher quality food. We're actually on the same page. Yes, the US is producing some high quality food---and there are markets overseas where there is a demand for this quality. I grew up on a farm in the US and still have strong ties there. I know very well what Americans are eating and I…

There's a solution. Produce better and higher quality food. That's what Italy does.

Let's start a thread!!!

Sure--it's highly possible. My BIL ( a cardiologist) and his wife both did (do) Keto now and again. We all know when because they have trouble going out for pizza with the rest of the family. :D :D

Thanks--but my advice still stands. Good luck to you.

Congratulations!!!

I agree with @cupcakesandproteinshakes. I'm a grandmother so maybe you'll listen to me. You want to be a good father and set a good example for your children. That's the whole purpose of your post. I commend you for that. However, a 14 yr old is still growing and needs different nutrients than adults, and on a different…

For good advice you'll need to give your stats--height, current weight, sex, etc.... Then, what daily calorie goal did MFP give you? Many people want to lose weight fast, but there can be serious consequences. Good for you that you stopped. Living a long healthy life should be the goal. That means creating good habits to…

Another tidbit on obese children in Italy. When I first arrived here I had many cultural clashes. I remember my MIL seeing a very fat baby and going on and on how beautiful it was. I thought it was way too fat, but I came to realize that her generation wanted children to be fat. They were behind medically here and she came…

I know the media and the general population are strongly against lab meat. As for smoking, there's still a lot of people smoking. That could also contribute to thinness--people eat less, taste buds are shot. Now they must smoke outside, but it's a problem even then. This summer at the beach the wind was blowing their smoke…
