Yup you're doing well--Congratulations! Best of luck with your future weight loss.

Nony hasn't been around since 2021. She won't see this.

Yes, people traveling should know---COVID is rampant. I had old friends contact me because they were on a trip to Italy and wanted to get together on Sunday in Rome. I just got an email that they've got COVID and are in quarantine in a hotel in Sorrento. Not bad for a place to be stuck in, with a view of the sea.

Just got back from summer at the beach (I do get to the beach, but it's mainly a working vacation, with my son's family there--lots of cooking, and gardening. At least we're airconditioned now), so am checking in. COVID numbers are on the rise in Italy and we are a worldwide vacation spot in Rome, so there's no chance of…

It's OK. Sometimes people are just not ready. One day you will be, and will make the changes that are necessary. It's hard for me to be sympathetic because your big problem is that you live alone. I, on the other hand, have family and extended family to cook for--everyday, twice a day. We're talking 4 to 8 people, and 5…

I am not assuming that you are eating double. I am saying that you should tighten up your logging---IF you want to lose more per week. IF you do not, continue as is. BECAUSE you have to be able to live with your deficit. THAT'S what I said. As for PCOS, many people on here have it. You can ask for specific help with that.…

You, yourself, say--"I don't think I am tracking my calories 100% correct....." You have a cheat day, you're eating out and don't know what those calories really are. You admit it yourself. This is very normal on here. It's nothing to worry about, however you need to change things up a little if you are not happy with your…

I answered your questions upthread. I guess I don't understand what the problem is exactly.

This is your problem. Doing these things is just fine and may make weight loss tolerable. However it will, and has, slowed down your loss.
-
It's beautiful, even though it's not it's time of year.

I think we can say that the source of this advice is: good sense. Not everything has had scientific papers written about it. People don't have to follow this advice. They can find out themselves if it is really good sense or not. I've been following this thread. It's been interesting because there is no scientific backing.…

OK...OK....You win. You have more nuts running around than we do. :D :D

Nope--anyone can participate.

You risk your long term health. There is nothing wrong with slow weight loss.
-
There are no "bad" foods. We eat bread all the time in Italy and people are thin---go figure. Too many food myths in the States.
-
With such complicated problems I'd advise you to see a dietician. Random people on the internet will probably not be a good choice. Good luck.

"Working out" is not necessary. Doing some kind of movement is a good idea for your health. Try other things--branch out. As for calorie counting--it works, if you do it. If you really hate it there are other ways, but you'll have to be in a deficit. How you want to manage that is up to you. Set up good habits that will…

Here's your problem--"I want the crash course diet that works and then I never have to diet again". This is the mindset that'll trip you up. It's better to set up good eating habits and know your portion sizes for the rest of your life. Otherwise you're set up to yo-yo. It's trial and error. Going out with friends and…

If you think you can eat the things you love and just cut down, that's the best way to go because you need to find a way of eating that you can keep up for the rest of your life. As you've seen, if you "diet" sooner or later you leave it and regain. Perhaps you could just substitute a few things to bring your daily calorie…

Well, your post talks in the first person--YOU personally. Not like you're describing something happening to someone else. Perhaps you could describe this shaming episode? And then we could understand why you're all fired up?
-
Could I ask what happened to you to make this "hypothetical" rant? Or, are you just supposing people are thinking this way about you? There's a lot of anger here. It may help give you motivation to stick to your plan for a while, but it can eat you up inside.

I like the car in the background!

Thanks for the update! You'll come through with flying colors. Stay strong!

68 here. I'm living with the idea to do as much as I can, as long as I can. I try to do some sort of exercise everyday. My mother is 94 and deteriorating--mentally and physically. She's the last one alive of the neighbors and her friends. Mom was an RN and up until COVID was active especially doing Zumba, which she loved.

Babies grow up fast. I'd advise you to wait and just maintain while breastfeeding. Your body is fighting you hard. It'll win--it's nature. Once this time passes, ease into a slight calorie deficit and see how it goes.

Yep--our drought has been washed away. Lots of flooding for over a month now. When it rains--it pours. It's true for us in Italy. There have been dead caught in the flood waters. Sad. Hope you pass through without major problems. Nature is one tough lady.

What a fool. I was wondering how hard the long winter would be on the wildlife. Poor critters.
-
Isn't that high of a BMI a risk in and of itself?
-
Agree with Ann, eating what you want and not logging on the weekends is not a good plan. You can still enjoy time with family without overdoing. Be careful.

You don't say what your daily calorie goal is and if you went over, and by how much. That's what you should be looking at. Do you have a digital food scale. Are you weighing and measuring all food and drink? Without that knowledge, it's hard to turn things around.
