Nothing. I drink a protein shake right after though.

More eggs, meat, greek yogurt and less of everything else....

Chobani in various flavors

I'm on my 5th week of Crossfit and am down a pant size also, even though I'm only down around 4 lbs as well. I'm going 3 times a week, but would love to bump it up more (so expensive though!). Yay CF!

I eat 2,000 cals a day and have lost 3.5 lbs in 3 weeks, but I'm 260 lbs and 5'8" working out 3 times a week for 1 hour (Crossfit).

^^ This My diary is open...

I hit much higher than that a day without using bars or shakes. Like a previous poster said, plan your day around your protein instead of carbs/fat and it isn't that hard. My diary is open if you want to take a peek.

Looks great :) There are Paleo groups here that you can join to get more info and support.

I just got off an 8 week reset and exercised that whole time (cardio and Body Pump classes). It seemed to be just fine for me and after YEARS of not losing, I am FINALLY losing again. OMG I am so happy!! I hope to be a success story one of these days for EM2WL :)

^^^ Ditto for me, hubby and our 15 month old.

Ok, that makes sense. Thank you so much for breaking that down for me. I will dig out my food scale, take measurements and give this a go for a month and see how it plays out.

Ok, so when you say "see what happens to those inches", are you implying that there might not be a change in weight? Because I am very overweight (100+ lbs), I would expect to see some change there also (in addition to inches) to get into a healthy BMI. Also thank you for your advice, I will give it a try for the next…

Cool thanks. This past week was a little out of the normal because I had family staying with me Tues and Thurs-Sun. I normally do not eat out that much and eat more at home. When we went out, I did get salads though, so it's not like I was going buck wild. And I just lowered my calorie goal, so it shows me going over, but…

^^ THIS!! I'm in the same boat from a 'medically supervised' 'cookie' diet I did a while back. Same story and now I'm trying to reset my metabolism and follow the TDEE-20% plan.

Umm by this theory I should be eating 3160 to maintain and I maintain at 2400 cals. Quack.

It's less of the actual knee joint and more of the connection of the muscle/tendon(?) to the top of the knee cap area. I think maybe that transition is weak/damaged? With as heavy as I am, it's a strain on that area to lift myself up from the squat position. I feel like the alternatives would be even harder on that area…

There are Primal/Paleo groups here that should have good information for you. Also, www.marksdailyapple.com is a good place to start. Just google paleo or primal recipes online and tons of sites will come up. I'm with TX_Aggie_Dad though, when I was doing primal I would just do a well seasoned protein paired with simple…

Because of my bad knees, I've been steering clear of squats until I lose some weight. I tried Stronglifts 5x5 back in March and reinjured my right knee (irritates the area above my knee and inside my knee). Is there something I can do to modify the squats and deadlifts to protect the knee?
-
Also, is there a possibility that I can get an explanation of how/why you came up with the numbers you guys suggested?
-
Yes, just joined a big gym.

Any advice on workouts to go along with the intake plan?

Bump, 48 hours.

For good measure, here's all my weight info for the past 6 years: 01/13/04 264.4 (Highest weight ever, started Atkins) 06/02/06 210 (After Atkins and my first stint on MyFoodDiary.com eating to 1200 net cals) (Trained for my first half marathon in 01/2007 while still counting calories on MFD) 01/18/08 210 (restart MFD -…

Weaned my daughter this past December, did Paleo/low carb/low cal (~1400 cals) 3 weeks of January and lost basically nothing. Took February easy (didn't track much, but was still watching what I ate in carlories) and then started MFD in earnest March. Was shooting for TDEE- 20% (~1900 cals) and also doing Paleo until early…

Oops yes, saw that rule after I had already bumped. My bad!

Bump :)

Done! Sorry about that.

^^ Yikes! Saw your original comment though and appreciate the advice. Good to know I'm finally focusing on the right stuff...

Awesome, I'm starting off where you started and hope to look as good as you someday!
