  • As far as sheer number of legitimate laughs per episode, I think 'Family Guy' still takes the cake.
  • I spent several years barely making ends meet as an adjunct instructor, just picking up classes at whatever local colleges had openings. I was sometimes teaching 6 or 7 classes per quarter and making around $30,000 per year. Teaching is hard work. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
  • I'm always told that I look like Russell Crowe. In fact, I was at a standup comedy show once where the comic pointed me out in the crowd and said "Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Russell Crowe is in attendance tonight!" :)

  • Home of Bill S. Preston, Esquire and Ted Theodore Logan.
  • I want to look good naked. #REALTALK.

  • 1. TONS of MMA fighters. (I'm a huge MMA fan. I've travelled to quite a few UFC and other MMA shows all over the country and have met and gotten pictures with dozens of different MMA fighters.) 2. Quite a few musicians. Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, members of NOFX, Rancid, Bad Religion, Social Distortion, Less than Jake,…
  • Other Dream Job: Traveling musican. I have quite a few friends who play in touring bands, and several who actually tour the country (and world) playing music for a living. I've only had the opportuntiy to tour with a band once, and it was the most fun I've ever had. I would love to do that again.
  • Current Job: Academic Coordinator/English Professor Dream Job: Anything that would allow me to be around mixed martial arts events ALL THE TIME. I would love to just travel and cover MMA events as a journalist...although it would be cool to just ditch the journalism part altogether. So...basically...I want to travel around…
  • I often don't notice weight gain or loss if I see someone regularly. Perhaps that's the issue.
  • I believe I fall comfortably into the 6.5 - 7 range.
  • Consult your food log! ;)
  • You can only eat half of a 6-inch? Wow. I wish I could say that. I usually order a footlong, and sometimes I try to save half of it for later...with a very low success rate. :)
  • I've been to lots of Subway locations, and I've never seen avocado. Must be a regional thing...
  • 12" veggie on wheat, no cheese. Lettuce, onion, heavy pickles, heavy banana peppers, a little jalapeno, sometimes oregano. 460 calories for the whole thing! :)
  • I was 16. I was a bit of a late bloomer with this sort of thing because I was (and still am) EXTREMELY shy and nervous around women. (In fact, I'm 32 years old, and I've still "technically" never been on a date.)
  • I think it depends a lot on how you do it, too. I breathe hard and sweat hard the whole time when I'm doing my strength training, but I superset everything with pretty much no rests in between (except when my heart is pounding and my lungs are burning and I need a short break). I don't have a heart monitor so I can't…
  • I don't do separate body part days with my resistance work. I work the entire body 2-3 times a week, and I always do about 45 minutes of cardio on those days as well. I usually do the resistance stuff first, but sometimes I switch it up depending upon how I feel that day.
  • Sell nachos. It might sound silly, but they are the most cost-effective thing in the world to sell. You can get HUGE, industrial-sized cans of nacho cheese at Sam's Club for like 6 bucks, and huge bags of chips are like 3 bucks. Sell trays of chips and cheese for 2 or 3 bucks. We do it to raise money at my workplace all…
  • Nonsense that it isn't a big deal. It's a VERY big deal. The free goodies that are always showing up in the break room at work are the bane of my existence. Today I ate half of a donut and 4 donut holes. Your steadfast resolve is admirable!
  • I'm expecting to have around 1000 calories to play with after my workout tonight, so I might treat myself to some Taco Bell. There are some surprisingly low-cal options on the Fresco Menu. Three Fresco softshell tacos come in at between 500-600 calories (the exact number eludes me at the moment, but I used to know it by…
  • I've been lucky enough to see in concert pretty much every band I've ever wanted to see. The only glaring omission that I can think of is Faith No More. Would really love to have seen them but never got the chance. Also...I saw Tool. :) They sound really good in concert--one of those bands where if you close your eyes, you…
  • Running a 1/2 marathon, in my experience, is a funny thing. I just decided one day that I was going to do it. I had never run more than 3 miles in my life, and the 1/2 was only about 6 weeks away. I never ran more than 8 miles in training (and I only did that ONCE), but I was still able to run the entire 13.1 miles without…
  • http://shouldieatmyexercisecalories.com/ (This is meant all in good fun.) :)
  • I think it really depends on the guy. You've mentioned that he's outgoing, so a few little things that will let him know you're interested might do the trick (like...if HE'S interested, he might take the reins from there). However, if he's anything like me, you'll have to beat him over the head with it. I never pick up on…
  • To be fair, I had only been running in my cheap Target shoes for about 3-4 months, so I'm not sure how they'll hold up over time. I just meant that, as far as overall comfort, I hadn't really noticed a difference between those and the Asics.
  • I recently bought a $100 pair of Asics, but I honestly haven't noticed any difference between those and the generic ones from Target that I got for $20. (In fact, I still wear the Target ones sometimes because I kind of like them better.) I envy that you've become somewhat "addicted" to running. I wish that would happen to…
  • Just curious: Is the title to this thread a reference to the Sepultura song "Refuse/Resist"? :) -E
  • Keep in mind that all of the numbers on MFP--both calories you're ingesting and calories you're burning--are approximate. The chances that you're ACTUALLY one calorie under are slim to none.
