Not at all. Walking is the easiest and cheapest exercise. I'm a fitbit user and walking is my main (and only) exercise. In 6 months i have walked almost 2.500 km/1.500 miles and lost 18 kgr/40 lbs. I have mine (fitbit one) from February. My primary exercise was walking and fitbit was more than accurate for me. I have lost 36 lbs in five months just eating in a deficit: fitbit TDEE - cals of my food plan . So if your main activity is walking/jogging and the numbers in your food logs are accurate the "plan" is working.
