With the chest strap I get real time, ECG quality HR readings. I've told the watch my weight, age, height, resting HR, estimated Max HR and target calories to burn and then it times the duration of my workout. With all this data in the equation I believe it turns out to be pretty accurate however I accept that it's not…

I concur with the Talk Test as described - halting conversation and you are probably working hard enough. I usually experience this and the HRM backs it up. At 70-80% of max I find it difficult to carry on a conversation. Even at 50% it starts to get challenging. I use a Mio Ultimate HRM and find it accurately captures my…

I just got a Mio Ultimate today and set it up with all my body stats. Just circuit trained for an hour, chest and back, which included running and rowing in between exercises and I burned 527 calories. I averaged 138 bpm and was in my target zone of 70-80% of max for 16 min and above max for 8 min, below 70% for 16 min.…

Throwing cardio in for a minute or two in between weight exercises is an excellent way to keep the heart rate up which is going to get you the best caloric burn in your workout time frame. You want to have all your…

Yep, that's where it comes from. I've cut out all the bad stuff and reduced serving sizes. I figured if I was eating fruits, veg and grains it was ok. Thanks for helping me understand.

Ah, see now that makes sense and makes me feel better about going over. I'm still trying to keep it in the ballpark but going over isn't as troubling now. Cheers! :drinker:

Hey there, Does anyone else find the daily sugar allotment to be very low. I find it impossible, even when eating small portions of good healthy food to keep within 40 grams of sugar a day. Almost always by lunch time I'm at the limit. I don't crave it or need it, but it seems impossible to stay under it. If I'm exercising…
