  • As a person who was on this very forum asking the same question, my biggest advice for you is to trust in the process!!! We all want to the instant gratification of the scale numbers dropping, but unfortunately that is not always the case especially as we move past the first few weeks of our lifestyle change. Losing weight…
  • Although I've added more home cooked meals to my routine in which I use a scale, im.away from home alot between the gym and my work schedules so I use a lot of prepackaged salads and healthy snack packs. The trainer told me he didn't care what I ate as long as I hit my goal
  • I do the elliptical on a 10 incline. I do HIIT at least 5x a week along with a body pump class which is pure weight lifting about 2x a week on top of everything else.
  • Ok all so I talked to one of my trainers who runs the class I'm in. Now this may go against others beliefs but he encouraged me to push my MFP weight loss goal back to 0.5lb per week. He said although losing 2 lbs per week is a good goal and easily attainable at first, you can't maintain that weight loss rate the whole…
  • Not 2000 calories burned, it's 1300 in 2 hours of physical activity added to my remaining calories of 700. I don't usually eat back even half of my exercise calories because I know it's probably inflated. In this case I don't think I'll be able to eat any which I feel will do more harm than good
  • Thanks so much!!! My scale hasn't budged going on 4 weeks now though, I think my body may be in starvation mode unfortunately
  • Thanks for all the advice. I talked a friend who recommended using the crockpot and just letting things cook while I sleep. I made a chuck roast in it the other day, very good. I also bought some fish because baked fish is quick and simple as well as many packets of the steam fresh veggies for easy sides. I'm looking up…
  • well obviously I'm lost LOL
  • This was a typical "clean food" eating day for me 1. Premier Protein Shake (160 cals) 2. Fruit Bowl From Walmart (~ 250-275 cals) 3. Subway Salad + Ranch ( 300+220) Grand Total= 930- 955 calories (and I was FULL) Now add up 1 hour on the elliptical and an hour weight lifting class and you have STARVATION for the body LOL.…
  • OMG your comment is hilarious!!!! I love my fitbit though and have done challenges with my friend which have kept me motivated to keep MOVING. As a user said above, I like to see my heart rate changes. When I was hitting the gym regularly, my resting heart rate dropped from the low 90s to high 70s in a few weeks. I was so…
  • Hey Everyone!!! My name is Jasmine and I am a person who has always been overweight. I work in the medical field and feel so hypocritical for being at an unhealthy weight. I have wanted to lose weight for years, but found myself motivated for a couple weeks, then ditching the weight loss plan. I really had no motivation…
  • Vacation killed my hopes of ever attaining the current goal for this challenge, but it was a big motivating factor. Definitely moving on to the next goal.
  • Don't feel bad, I dropped off the wagon a few weeks back. It was due to a hectic work schedule to get extra money for vacation then the actual vacation. I'm starting back this week and it was a great learning experience. I overate and felt HORRIBLE. I hadn't been able to exercise and I found I missed it. I think that's the…
  • Well my TOM was last week so I'm still retaining some water weight because aunt flow just left yesterday. I'm going to wait until this Friday to weigh in. Definitely gave into some cravings last week so I'm scared of the scale. 10lbs down so far. I'm going to tighten up, alcohol has become my enemy so sobriety at least…
  • I have approximately 80 days until my birthday. My last weigh in this past friday was 237.2lbs bringing up to a 17.2lb loss in 45 days. I'm setting a goal of 210lbs which is 27lbs in 80 days. I hope this is doable
  • I just came across this website, I wondered if anyone else had tried it as well. BUMP

  • Like the above poster said, I broke my ultimate goal down into mini goals. I'm doing small goals of 15lbs at the moment (down the first 15!!!!) I started at 254lbs and my ultimate goal is about 140-145lbs (I'm 5'4"). Right now I'm focusing on making it to 180lbs. I was the "fat" kid so all throughout high school I weighed…
  • Surprisingly enough, I braved the scale today as promised earlier this week. I've not been fully committed to eating within my calorie limit due to a move into a new house. I have been a fast food junkie for the last week and I didn't expect any movement from the scale. Well I'm down another 2 lbs. 239.8lbs last week to…
  • I actually moved last week and took a holiday from dieting due to the stress of moving altogether. Never thought it would be this hard after a week to get back in the grove of things. I've eaten horribly, but thankfully have not gained a pound yet. My TOM is scheduled for next week so I'm going to avoid the scale and try…
  • Last week was spent moving with no exercise except a walking session. Probably won't weigh in until Friday for this week.
  • For me right now it's to drop at least one size. I've been on diets in the past that never lasted long. I think I always became discouraged seeing no results. So now that I've stuck on MFP for almost 6 weeks and dropped 12 lbs (highest weight I've ever lost)...I think going down a size would be the most rewarding…
  • I've always been the "fat" kid so being obese never bothered me....or so I let myself think. After obtaining a bachelors and moving on to obtaining a masters, I felt like that "sad" feeling would disappear. My mother was never the best at putting things lightly. When I graduated with my BSN and started looking for nursing…
  • down 2.4lbs....and ready to be down under 240. My new mini goal...4lbs to go!!
  • As I sit at this hospital waiting for the clock to strike 7am, I am so proud of my accomplishments thus far. I'm coming up on my first month of my lifestyle change and the mental changes are amazing. Usually its about this time that I hang up the towel, but this challenge and forum as a whole has kept my mindset realistic.…

  • Congrats, your story is similar to mine. Learned to love myself way too much until I realize by letting my weight spiral out of control, I was actually killing myself. I've always been heavyset so its hard to imagine anything else, but I want the lifestyle change. Hoping I can be as successful as you!!! Congratulations!!!!
  • I'm a newbie, only one month in. BUT I have also found that if I don't exercise at least 6x a week then I end up falling off the exercise wagon. I'm still trying to re-program my brain at this point. I also find if I don't do any exercise and am just sitting around the house, I inevitably find something to munch on.
  • Goal for the day, stick to my walking plan. I accomplished 4miles at a 4mph pace yesterday. I'm trying to do the same today. Unfortunately made plans to eat out at an eatery with a friend for the kids. Its a "wing nite" at the restaurant so those exercise calories definitely will be eaten back. I'm definitely trying not to…
  • will be doing this challenge as soon as I get home...THANKS. I live for these challenges
