Let them lift -My daughter, a skinny little future ballet star was squatting for reps at 8 y/o - it was quite a sight to see her with an O bar on her back, son was lifting at about 5 or 6. He wanted to test his max a lot - he liked to deadlift and could pull a lot of weight for a 40 lb kid - be careful on that. Just be…

I would stick with the lighter weight until you can get your 3x12 Then pick a weight that you can get about 8 and work your way back to 12. Eastcoast Jim

I'm also 64 - I lift lighter then I used to and higher reps - 10-12 sometimes 5x5. I used to lift low reps & heavy except for 20 rep squat runs. The lighter weight / higher reps are easier on my joints & I have some old injury issues. I use dumbells instead of a o bar must of the time for pressing & rows, easier on my…

You are just starting out lifting, I wouldn't worry much about supplements, Spend your money on good food, meat & veggies. your peri workout nutrition is important. You are working on losing weight so keep your carb intake around your weight training. Have a carb/protein meal or snack before and a protein/ carb meal after.…

I like broccoli cooked with a few eggs and some cheddar cheese = plenty of protein & no farts. Eastcoast Jim

What is your pre- workout? some are junk - some are good. If you are lifting you should have some protein & carbs before. I like coffee too

True statement - if you just care about the weight - If you lift moderately heavy (what ever is heavy for you) you are going to keep muscle while loosing fat. The weight? who knows - you will probably have a smaller waist . Better looking (and stronger) arms and legs, and a better appetite - Eastcoast Jim

Keep it simple as you start - eat more vegetables - start cutting out the junk in your diet ( you know what that is) - eat some meat and eggs - Don't eat anything that comes in a can or a box - get off your butt and get some exercise, even if it is just a walk around the block - Eastcoast Jim

So let me get this straight - you are taking this supplement but don't know why? Is that smart? FYI - Pycnogenol is a Pine bark extract used as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory also for erectile dysfunction and circulatory issues. - It's probably safe

You have good depth - keep that - Try to sit back a little more - You can try box squatting with a box right near parallel - sit back to the box - start the lift with your head & shoulders - try to be a little more gentle when you stop at the bottom of the lift- you knees will thank you -I notice a slight round of your…

There is a lot you can do - chicken or turkey breast is very pricey - get the thighs, they taste better and you do need the fat. Buy the whole turkey - I'm single and I'll get one and cook the whole thing while I do a squat workout, then eat like a pig. You can get a lot of meals from a turkey, make soup, and put some in…

what you are referring too is empty calories - foods with little or no nutrition , just calories, think cookies ,cake, Doritos, highly refined foods, etc. - compare that too foods with good nutrition - meat, veggies, fruit, - you get the idea. - She's just using the words good and bad - Eastcoast Jim

I can't quote or remember where I read it, It was a few years ago - I was doing some research on re feed days / cheat days - how often to plan a high calorie or high carb day. I remember the 12 day number as to how long it takes the hypothalamus to reset your metabolism. With your 4 days just eat 1 or 2 big meals and move…
