With my first pregnancy, I had a pretty good idea when I got a whole bunch of little zits instead of my typical period zit. I was right of course and then looking back, I had also been feeling hot and easily irritable (not in the same way I PMS'd). This time around.. I had implantation bleeding, breast tenderness, and a…

Awesome results! Love it.

I lost all of my pregnancy weight with #1 from walking and doing at-home strength workouts a few times a week. With that said, I wasn't happy with my body composition even though the number on the scale was what I thought I wanted to see. When I started lifting heavy and focusing on that, not cardio, I saw the difference I…

I agree with the other posters; definitely talk to your doctor. I don't know your BMI but for women who are overweight (even just a little bit) it may mean their weight gain goals are less than that of a woman with a normal bmi pre-pregnancy. With that said, I was *this* close to losing the last bit of weight I wanted to…

Oh, good points! When it was nice weather, I took my baby for walks in a sling or stroller. And I don't know how many times she did Pilates with me! She thought it was hilarious! There were also times I'd put her in her jumperoo and do a workout like 30 Day Shred.. she loved watching me and I agree, it sets a great example…

When my little girl was that young, she was too young for our gym's childcare (and I'm not sure I was ready to leave her at the time anyway) so we invested in a (cheap) elliptical machine and I bought some dumbbells for home. If you can't commit to a solid block of time, break it up... Do 30 minutes of cardio before your…

Hi everyone! I'm 5 weeks pregnant and due Sept. 1st! So far, so good... had a mild bout of nausea yesterday and I'm certainly feeling some fatigue, but all in all, I'm just excited! This is baby #2 for me. My little girl is 4 1/2 right now :) Here's to healthy mommies and healthy babies!

Great work! Remember, slow and steady wins the race ;)

Hi! I think now would be the best time to start weight training (some people use the terms strength training and weight training interchangeably but I usually only use it when I'm referring to lifting actual weight, not using body weight). The more muscle you have, the more calories your body will burn, even at rest! Also,…

:o So I guess I should never lift my own child, huh?

I definitely think about food a lot and for me, it's a good thing. When I plan my meals or at least know what, of the food choices I have that day, I will or won't eat, I have more control. However, coming from a disordered past, that control wasn't always a good thing and the obsession with food can sometimes be a bad…

After checking out her website and Instagram photos, I find Maria Kang incredibly inspiring...

Congratulations! You look great!

Lol, thank goodness for the cake and ice cream. It fills the cracks of the heart! Happy birthday!

NOT eating won't help though... I've been there and all it did was make me unhappy and kept me overweight. When you are hungry, you should eat BUT make better choices. For instance, instead of raiding the candy machine, pull out a bag of trail mix from home that's been measured out already. That way when dinner time rolls…

I like a tablespoon of peanut butter (PB&Co!), cottage cheese, ice cream (serving size), popcorn, cheese sticks, hard boiled eggs, almonds, Larabars...

Uh no... just check the google image results for "ring finger weight lifting". *shudder*

Pushing through your self-imposed limits is an amazing feeling. Congrats!

Usually an hour to an hour and a half.. that includes some cardio to warmup and cooldown, five to ten minutes of stretching and the rest is lifting.

Welcome! You'll find tons of inspiring stories in the forums. What works is different for everyone but personally for me, logging everything, no matter what has helped me a lot. I plan for indulgences and work my calories around it. I make exercise a priority because I believe it's made a huge difference in my body…

Congrats! I think clothing is a great indicator of how you've changed your body! I tend to not see it in the mirror daily but when my clothes are falling off, I realize how much I've shrunk! And fitting into old favorite jeans-- the best!

I love cheese... I eat everyday and have lost all my weight while still eating it.

Congrats on getting started! If you set yourself up for success, you'll have success. One of the best things I've done for myself is planning for error. For instance, I know that if I go on an overnight trip to see family or friends, I'm probably going to wind up eating different than I normally do and I might even eat too…

I love that. It's true too. My mom died three years ago in October and of the "things" I have of hers, it's the photos I cherish. Every one of them, whether it was before I was born or after, with me or without me, I love knowing who she was and remembering exactly what she looked like. I have memories, yes, but holding a…

Perhaps some salon/spa treatments. A plain manicure ought to be around 20 depending on where you live. Or you could buy a new piece of workout clothing. I do rewards too and my next one is a new pair of workout shoes but that's a bit more than 20...

I wouldn't stress over it. Most companies vary in the way they measure and size women. Also some brands are better fit for different body types (hourglass, pear, etc.) Don't stress over what number size you are, since companies change their sizings so much. Just be proud of your accomplishments and dress for your body type…

Bump.. I had some tubes that were in the recall. Ugh.

It's really hard to read what you've had to deal with when I can't at least hug you or yell at some people, lol! In my opinion, you're never going to satisfy everyone... I've been underweight, healthy, overweight, and obese and for every person that thought I looked good, there was someone who disagreed. Now I don't worry…
