Delicious slimy poop growths.

Man-boobs when bodyfat goes above a certain level. It is what it is. Also, we have a necromancer among us ;)

In on data mining thread :p not doing all of them though.

I've eaten a lot of kebab/shaorma in my life. The meat isn't that fatty - if it's actual meat, with sliced mystery meat all bets are off - and doesn't have all that much cooking oil, it doesn't take a lot to make meat feel greasy and delicious. It's the pita and sauces that get you (but shaorma without garlic sauce would…

Alright, I'll be the anti-social one. There are times and places where I like talking to people I don't know, but those don't include the grocery store (or, for that matter, any other store, public transportation, libraries, etc...). Gym would be borderline. And yes, that does apply to attractive women. It might be an ego…

I hear you, here's how I got around it: weigh your ingredients while using the "bit of this, bit of that" method, then remember the proportions for next time (or write them down if your memory is like mine). I don't think it takes any joy out of cooking, on the contrary it makes it easier to consistently get the same…

Objectively, meal timing doesn't matter, or too little to matter for most people. Subjectively, I find it much easier to control my appetite when skipping breakfast. Eating steak, or meat in general, in the morning feels fundamentally wrong to me for some reason. YMMV. Raw veggies in the morning, however... I can dig it.

Human and breathing, non-negotiable.

I don't get dishes where you fry something crispy and then drown it in sauce. Goes for jagerschnitzel, parmesan chicken, poutine, etc... If you want sauce, why not have it on the side for dipping?

I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I log on the 24th and 31st, or 25th and 1st for that matter because leftovers, and doing maintenance between the two. Enjoy the holidays, people :)

These days, I do Assam or Ceylon loose-leaf and add a bag of herbal tea per pot for added flavour, usually spicy for Assam and fruity for Ceylon. Black but pretty sweet. And a pot of linden tea before going to bed, it's comfy and relaxing.

Off-topic, but... I get that the same word can mean different things but I'll just never get used to the american definition of "biscuit"...

+1 for not being sure what's trendy but I'm not even curious to try any of those meme video recipes that are >=75% bacon and/or cheese by weight.

Rice and eggs is my typical low-cost meal. With a little oil, onion and broth powder - all quite cheap - it's actually a pretty tasty meal. And just to be controversial, sweet stuff is dessert for me, not a meal. Savory all the way.

Well, for my last birthday I got together with some friends, drank a medically unrecommended amount of alcohol and... uh... memory gets a bit fuzzy but I picked up a pizza at some point on my way home, got through a slice and half before passing out and ate most of it the next day to help with the hangover. It was pretty…

I can feel when food is off, does that count? Getting vibes from people is normal, and I always take those into account. It's the brain picking up on body language that's too subtle to register consciously.

It's pretty funny, I love cheese, yogurt, sour cream, etc... but don't like milk...

Goodbye only year that's a multiple of 101 that I'll ever see :/

PSA: don't try to make an improvised deep fryer by filling up a tall pot with oil. A friend of mine nearly burned down his kitchen that way (not me, for the record, but I could see myself doing that).

I feel decadent admitting it but 20C in the bedroom and kitchen and 22 in the bathroom and living room. Stepping out of a hot shower into a cool bathroom is unpleasant, and the living room is on the corner with meh (at best) thermal insulation so it would periodically get chilly sitting next to the wall with a lower…

Somewhat related: I prefer subtitles over voice-overs, by far. In fact, I turn on the subtitles even if I know the language. Find it easier to get immersed in the movie that way.

Tfw you have two butcher shops in a 300m radius but both are halal and your favourite meat is pork :/ Merguez is pretty good, though (but a bit too spicy).

Of all the threads to result in drama... lol. One thing I've noticed is that taking a shower seems to put me in "serious" mode, so I'll sometimes take a shower even if not planning to go out that day when I have work to do and have been goofing off (more than usual). Two showers, though... only if I have a date, pretty…

Cries and shakes head in ex-communist. Oh well, it could have been worse. I could have grown up in the former Yugoslavia...

ground beef+pork > ground pork > ground beef > no meat > ground poultry

34 here. Kinda this, turning point was about 28-29. I can still function the next day but, back in my 20s, I barely even got hangovers... Nowadays, even just a bottle of wine will have me feeling off the next day and the last time I got drunk I couldn't think straight the whole day after... ETA: also, muscle soreness takes…

Easiest way I've found is to look for a place where you have support beams facing each other (you can tell by tapping on the walls) and set up the bar there with long screws. If they're sturdy enough to hold the house up, they can probably hold my fat kitten up...
-
Sadly, my current apartment doesn't have any doorframes or hallways sturdy enough to trust with a pull-up bar :( Back when I had one, I would do one set at max reps (12-18 range, depending on the day) every morning, sometimes one in the evening too. Once or twice a week I would do a proper routine, usually a pyramid so not…

Not the last meal - I cook most days - but over the weekend I made pork schnitzel, with sauteed mushrooms and a small omelette ( from the leftover breading material) as sides. That hit the spot :)
